Stopped at Madison Inn last night with no expectations and ended up with the best meal we have had in a long time. We had the salmon, filet and pork chop. Every thing was PERFECTLY prepared. The pork chop was the best ever, in any restaurant. Usually, they are overcooked and dry. This one was amazing, moist and delicious. I... More

The Madison Inn is actually located on the outside of Black Mountain and one has to take the Ridgecrest Exit off I-40 and then follow the signs. The inn provides a great place to stay and most importantly a great place to eat. The food is wonderful and the portions are just right. The atmosphere is intimate and not a... More

Rumor has it that the Madison Inn has evaporated and is gone! Can it be true? My friend and I ate and ate and laughed and giggled there until the manager had to request that we depart; yes, we were there for hours upon hours and closed the place down. Two friends who worked as servers there told me that... More

Beautifully decorated with ceiling lights, cloth table linens and a fireplace. Service is intimate and great selection of food with portion choice. Bring a big appetite if you want the larger choice of pecan crusted pork as you'll get two big chops. I loved the panko crusted grouper with the key lime sauce and mushroom risotto! Homemade veggie soup came... More

While it might be a bit challenging to find, it is worth the extra effort. Delightfully rustic on the outside, but uniquely decorated on the inside the restaurant beckons the hungry traveller. From the winsome mirrors with their clear emphasis on love, to the personable and talented waitstaff the restaurant excels. The food was extraordinary in taste, warm, and attractively... More

First, just finding The Madison Inn is a drive back in time--though it is very close to an Interstate exit. The menu and food are absolutely top notch. Perfectly prepared and served. Now, many places might be like that....but what is over-the-top extraordinary--the eating spaces inside and outside the fascinating, unique old structure, and the decorating--unique! A wonderful experience, worth... More
