We stopped by this restaurant for dinner about 8pm on a Monday evening. Just a couple other tables were being served, and we were the last ones for the night. I had the Calabash style seafood platter, which was very good- scallops, shrimp and a flounder fillet. My son had a seafood pasta dish which he also enjoyed. The cocktails...

We visited Rusty's for an early dinner in late May, having studied his interesting menu online, and having read a number of reviews on TripAdvisor. If you're visiting Hatteras, and you're tired if the same old fried seafood everywhere else, this is the place for you. We started with the Scorpion Bay Calamari, which were tender, with a crispy bite,...

We had the pleasure of dining at Rusty's for Mother's Day this past weekend. Rusty's had a modified "special" menu for Mother's Day. We decided to dine out on somewhat of a whim and were thrilled with our choice of this particular restaurant! The food was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend it!
The Outer Banks can be something of a hit-or-miss proposition for eating out. Fortunately, Rusty's is one of the hits. We dropped in this trip on a whim since we were hungry passing through Buxton. We chose seafood and were pleased with appropriately done scallops, a crab soup that wasn't over-done with the wine, and vegetables that paid homage to...

As a tourist destination, the North Carolina Outer Banks offers a lot of good seafood restaurants, from the northern towns of Duck and Corolla to Ocracoke Island in the south. We're part-time residents, so we have opportunities to try many of them. But we've found one restaurant that's something very special. It's Rusty's Surf and Turf in the village of...

We had dinner here during our vacation, and it was the best dinner we had that week.
Food: Innovative, the the usual steamed tasteless seafood, great flavors, cooked to perfection. We started with the lobster Samosas with mango chutney (outstanding), and the grilled fish special with beans and rice (very good) and of course their wonderful hush puppies. The food...

The atmosphere left a lot to be desired, the portions were too large which is probably how they get away with charging the amount they do for sub-par food. I do not recommend this restaurant.
