The food was delicious! This is not your standard fare, so don't go expecting the typical (although they were very good about happily preparing the typical for one of our party who made special dietary requests). Everything seemed to have a little something extra to flavor it, but they did not overdo it. I loved their warm breads, their hashbrowns... More

So some reviewers have hammered Il Palio for their decor. This intimate, small-footprint restaurant is a little jewel in the Sienna Hotel. We made reservations for a Saturday night, about three hours before we wanted to go. The dress code is relaxed in summer, and we were seated within fifteen minutes of our reservation. There were a couple of large... More

Wonderful food, pleasant ambience, but a major faux pas: in a sea of empty tables, the host placed us at a table next to one set up for 14 people. We didn’t notice that set-up until our wine was served, and the group started coming in. We ate in a hurry and left as the noise grew.

Wonderful food, service was excellent. The entire experience was well recevied. Staff was attentive to every need, even down to keeping the room warm (was a rainy night) and the food and drink flowing!

The entrance of the hotel is very nice and for a few minutes if you close your eyes you feel llike you are in a small town in Italy. Lots of pink marble. The ceiling of the restaurant is too low and if the restaurant is full (as it was the night we were there) is not that pleasant. The... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your dining experience at Il Palio. We are delighted you are fond of the hotel entrance and lobby. Although we are sorry to hear the ceilings feel too low. The restaurant and bar area are going through a full renovation, and the new design will improve the restaurants look and feel, creating... More

The food and service were simply outstanding. The butternut squash ravioli was excellent and the North Carolina grouper was prepared perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate here last night. Appetizer and small pasta dishes were more than adequate for my husband and I. He had steak tartare and I had wilted spinach to start . we were offered complimentary cauliflower soup too. Delicious ! Then I had the shrimp scampi and my husband had the black truffles with pasta. Both dishes were amazing. Chef... More

I had wanted to try this restaurant for over 5 years but was always intimidated because it seemed like pretty fancy establishment. I was beyond excited that my boyfriend made a reservation at Il Palio for my birthday and eagerly counted down the days for weeks leading up to our dinner date. I think because I'd been so excited and... More

This is the hotel restaurant for The Sienna Hotel in Chapel Hill, NC. I have had lunch there, appetizers there, and a full breakfast there. Every single item was superb. The lunch salad was fresh, original, and delicious, with a wonderful glass of white wine (there is an extensive wine menu by the glass and by the bottle). The winter... More
