Went hiking and decided to drive to Mt Airy for a late lunch. Picked Barney because he was my favorite :). The waitress was friendly. Some people like that type of food but it isn't my favorite. I would like to try Snappy Diner or somewhere else next time.

We who live here like this 'like home food.' Desserts are super including banana splits and cakes. Not 'fine dining' which is fine with me when I'm wanting breakfast or lunch.

Staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Wouldn't say that I thought the food was fantastic, but not bad. It's a diner with very down home feel. Maybe our expectations were a tad too high - but I have nothing bad to say.

We have been thru Mt Airy several times and always want to try a different restaurant, but just cant get away from this one. My fav meal tho is the homemade chicken and dumplings, mmmmmmmmm good, and the coconut cake baked by the owner's Mama! Doesnt get any better than that.
