Description: Meals at The Swag, a Smoky Mountain resort, are both social and delectable experiences. It is not unusual for lasting friendships to be forged while guests feast on our gourmet cuisine at our North Carolina mountain escape! Our always-exceptional evening meals are influenced by the seasons and the personal style of our fabulous chef. Our ever-changing menus feature the freshest herbs, fruits, and vegetables (often from our own gardens) and products from local farmers and purveyors, such as Sunburst Trout Farms in the heart of Pisgah National Forest. We invite you to relax and experience the fine casual dining and creative regional cuisine that is the hallmark of The Swag.

Breakfast buffet -- lots to choose from, including vegetarian and gluten free. No sit-down lunch in the dining room, but a backpack or sack lunch is provided. Dinners are served at the tables. Small portions but we never left hungry. Great desserts and entrees. Waiters are friendly and work very hard to keep everyone happy.

My wife and I had our first visit last June to the Swag. We weren't sure what to expect...but we were extremely pleased at the end! First, the grounds are simply amazing. Beautiful views everywhere you look...and, great hiking trails on the property. There are plenty of 'hideaways' hidden off the trails. A very nice touch, a hint of privacy... More

My brother has been here over twenty times, and finally decided it was time to take his little brother. We have roots in North Carolina, and I know now why he keep this place his secret. We stayed in the two-story cabin, which was very spacious and rustic, but you got the feel of luxury all around you. The food... More

From the moment you call for a reservation till you put down the last spoon, you feel special. No courtesy is spared, in order to make you feel special. We ate all our meals here as we were residents. But people drive long distances to eat here to celebrate special occasions. Food and setting are both truly special.

Food appeared to be locally sourced; one dinner was not as filling as we wanted and that situation was rectified when brought to the attention of the staff. Highly recommended...

Totally a memorable experience, much more than mere dining. You make an advance reservation. On that date you are apprised of the chef's menu selections for that particular day. Upon approaching the private property you give your name into a security gate/system before being allowed to enter. You then advance to a mountain peak where you have a spectacular view.... More
