Just a short drive up from bahia principe hotel in Akumal Pueblo, this family run business gave us the experience we were so desperate for - to eat like the mexicans do, in their own surroundings. Tiny restaurant with a pet rabbit running around, the food was fresh and cooked to order. The tacos were fantastic and the fajitas as... More

We ate here to get away from the beach scene, the food was good, cooked fresh, and the service was good as well. You really got a sense of a family run business as they cooked the food right there after you order, so no complaints on the quality/tastiness of the food itself. While the restaurant and seating area is... More

Our favorite place for dinner in Akumal (across the highway in the pueblo). Delicious, fresh food; great service; hardworking family that makes dining there an enjoyable experience. We fell in love with the chorizo quesadillas and the fish tacos but everything we had was good. Guacamole is made when you order (as are all the dishes). We would readily choose... More

Stopped here during an excursion with Captain Quickie! The staff was wonderful! The food just kept coming! All We Could Eat! CARNITAS!! We had a group of 11 plus our 2 guides! We were seated immediately. Not a huge place but very comfortable! Unique may be the key word! Food was fantastic! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Akumel... More

We ate at Taco Maya last Saturday. I had the lamb soup, my husband had the lamb tacos. Great service, friendly waitress. The owners live upstairs, the waitressas their daughter. The food was really good. We had 4 Sol with our meal. Total bill was 140 pesos. We will visit this place again on our next trip.

We enjoyed this restaurant one block north/east of the main drag on the pueblo side of the highway. The menu was typical taqueria fare, including barbacoa (which may not be an every day thing). The flank steak tacos were good but not excellent, the lamb barbacoa was excellent. The tables are set in a little courtyard within the walled compound,... More

Not on the beach but worth the trip to Akumal Pueblo...Best Grilled fish we've had in Akumal. Less than 10 minutes from time of order to the table. Attentive Service with a genuine smile and cant't beat the price. Two excellent dinners, three beer, two desserts including an amazing home made flan all for only 200 pesos.. Nice courtyard, genuinely... More

This is a little, good, clean taco place. Maybe there is nothing special here other than the earnest attention and good simple food we were served but by the fact that it is in Akumal, one of the Mayan Rivera's finest resorts, a lot of visitors might shy away. It is well worth at least a meal's visit when you... More
