We enjoyed an Autumn lunch at Ashcrofts today and were impressed with the crisp clean shop front and the genuinely friendly and professional service. Interestingly, the food was much heavier than we anticipated or perhaps are currently used to. Virtually every dish was sauced and the vegetable sides, although tasty and plentiful, were quite oily. Although we are robust eaters...

Food and service were lovely. Had a hiccup as they didn't have our booking. Owner apologised and was lovely but we only had a limited time to eat which was a shame so no time for dessert or coffee but what we did have was fabulous!
My husband and I heard many nice things about this place but we felt let down. The atmosphere was very loud and a bit crowded. The food was nice but nothing I would go back for. I have been many times to Ashcrofts and apart from the very high quality food, well worth the one hat, the ambience and the service is of the highest order. Not to be missed.
I love Ashcrofts! I have been here a few times and each time has been wonderful! The food and service are both excellent! Not sure what else I can say - except that I can't wait to go back again.
Very nice restaurant, attractive dining room and interesting art. The starter was excellent, very creative and worthy of a top notch restaurant. Also given the overall cost, charging 3AUD...

The food was almost unbelievable. The taste was amazing. Very formal yet comfortable. Great choice of wine with suggestions from the waiter made it the perfect acompaniment to the meal.
We celebrated a birthday at this lovely restaurant. The food and wine were excellent, and the service first rate. There is also an art gallery upstairs with a very interesting exhibition of works made from silk.
Outstanding menu, fabulous service, local produce, top quality preparation and presentation. It doesn't get any better than this top quality restaurant. Try the goose liver.
