that the chowder is "world famous' I found it average at best. Very casual atmosphere with a great beach front location does serve them well but I think this will be my only visit.
When it's not foggy, this restaurant has a killer view. We came for that and because they supposedly had amazing clam chowder. I found it to have a weird, grainy texture, I think from the potatoes. Now the food comes quickly and the staff is efficient. We also appreciated the lady who rang us up. She was very friendly and... More
We have always included a stop at Mo's over the years when visiting the Oregon coast. There has been a definite improvement in the interior but a decline in food quality. The clam chowder was not the way we remembered it as it was more like a thick potato soup with some clams thrown in. The fish and chips were... More
Once you get past the tacky ambience and picnic style tables, the view takes your breath away. That's the only positive here... the view!!! In fairness, our waitress was efficient and attentive. People are funnelling through this restaurant in droves so you may be tempted to try it but don't! The chowder was thick like mashed potatoes; it tasted ok... More
We visited Mo's Cannon Beach at Tolovana Park for some of their famous chowder. I enjoyed the Cannonball Bowl. It was just the thing for a chilly evening. The view of Cannon Beach is beautiful from the restaurant. You can see Haystack Rock & the lighthouse "Terrible Tilly." The atmosphere is great and our server was friendly. They have a... More
I don't like clam chowder. I like their clam chowder. Also good cod fish and good chips, proper malt vinegar for the chips, fresh shrimp on the salad, reasonable prices for a tourist town. They ought to upgrade their house red wine, though. Large portions, didn't try dessert.
Mo's restaurant is a landmark in Cannon Beach. The restaurant sits right above the beach with sweeping views of the shoreline and Pacific Ocean. The remodel has updated and spruced up the restaurant. The decor is beach-chic and the tables are still generally accompanied by benches, so it's definitely casual, but what you would expect in a great chowder restaurant.... More
Fried combo plates, bouillabaisse, and clam chowder were very good. The fried fish, oysters, clams, and shrimp were not overly greasy. Service was quick and attentive. The view is amazing with a view of Haystack Rock.
What a great place for casual dining with a panoramic view of the ocean...there isn't a bad seat in the entire restaurant. The seafood here was fresh, hot and very tasty. Our server provided some great suggestions and helped us enjoy a variety of what Mo's has to offer, i.e., steamer clams, clam chowder, blacken cod fish tacos...we will definitely... More
