Mostly sweets, not too much in the way of fresh baked bread or sandwiches, good coffee drinks and such. Nice upscale neighborhood to shop around and then break for a coffee or tea.

Great place for a casual, but yummy breakfast in the Pearl district of downtown Portland. Smallish place that is welcoming and friendly. The pastries were very good. Our friends had eaten there before, otherwise, we wouldn't have found it. Lots of goodies to choose from. Downside, was we waited forever for our hot drinks. It looked like they were unorganized...

Wandered over here after visiting Powells books and holy crow, I am in bread heaven. I had a ham & cheese sandwich and a raspberry brownie.I ha to stand in line but it was so worth it. So amazing. Portland is way better than Austin!
I think the quality went down for a few years and now it is better. Than ever. I had the strawberry macaroon, yummy. Good kaiser rolls, challah and apple dessert.
Don't be put off by the negativity in some reviews. We found the Pearl Bakery cozy and warm on a wet and cold December day. We came for bread and found an olive loaf which turnd out to be delicious. We stayed for lunch and had very tasty sandwiches and desserts. The staff was most attentive and helpful. We had...

Located in a neighborhood area that does not offer much in the way of parking. This establishment is outstanding for the person who lives in the area, walks to the shop and drinks the coffee. Space is limited inside and the offerings are average. Don't go there looking for standard bakery fare, such as donuts, etc. If you're a bagel...

Pearl Bakery is so delicious that I had to return for three days in a row. I just had to be sure it wasn't a fluke. I highly recommend their pumpkin bread, cinnamon crown or bear claw. Just make sure you pair it with a latte to complete the goodness. The staff was friendly and helpful and I truly don't...

Very friendly staff, nice bakery in a convenient location. But that's about it. Selection of breakfast items was very limited. I ordered the Cinnamon bun which I had read so much about on TA but was left dissapointed. Dry and bland.
Also tried the cornmeal bread and if it wasn't for the jam I poured on, it was dry as...

This bakery has a classy, urban atmosphere. I got a soy chai, a brownie, and a roll (for later). All were great. I stopped here on the way to Powell's books.
We love to grab coffee and a pastry before visiting the City of Books and a delicious sandwich to enjoy on our drive back to Bend!
