I had a number of tasting and 4 different scoops. Make sure you get the flight, as another reviewer notes it is 4 kid-sized scoops of ice cream. Better yet, make sure you go with someone else so that you can share 8 scoops! Whatever you choose, it will be delicious and many if not most of the flavors are... More

The line was around the store and down the street some. We were skeptical of waiting. We DON'T love lines! Our relatives, residents of Portland, assured us it would be he very BEST ice cream in the world. It was chilly, we were a tad annoyed. We finally stepped in. It was a very cool ambience. Farm like objects decorated... More

We visited Salt and Straw on a very warm August day. PDX friends had raved about the quality of their ice cream so we were eager to try it. As you might expect, there was a line out the door at the NW PDX location, so by the time we were able to order our appetites were as piqued as... More

I've now been to this place on two different occasions, once with two friends, and once with one friend. On both occasions (around 12:30 PM both times) all of us were amazed at the flavors of ice cream they have on offer (most of them ones you will find no place else -- as for example sea salt and caramel... We visited Salt & Straw after our dinner at Lincoln. It was still crowded even though it was 45 degrees outside. The spiced banana and walnut ice cream with hot fudge was delicious. I like that they use local ingredients. The servers were very friendly. For more information about the other restaurants we ate at on our trip, feel free... More

This was one of our most anticipated treats on our trip to portland, and we were not dissapointed. We got in line just at the door with about a 10/15 minute wait. We were given samples of anything we chose. I went with the amazing Almond brittle with salted ganache (FAVORITE) and some freckled woodlblock chocolate. we like that chocolate... More

What a fun place on Alberta! It was Friday night. The line was long, but it moved. We were entertained while we waited by a street band. The ice cream is truly homemade and delicious. I was given several samples by friendly servers before ordering vanilla with hot fudge topped with hazelnuts. That sounds boring, but was anything but. It... More

I mean it! These flavors are crazy! You can't just get normal chocolate or strawberry - they don't have it... just ridiculous flavors that open your mind up to a whole new world of unique tastes. If you're scared, don't be. You'll love it. We actually own an Italian ice cream shop and came here for some ideas...my mind is... More

This was our first visit to Portland and while strolling on 23rd Ave. noticed the long line at Salt and Straw. I asked someone in line what was so popular at this establishment and learned it was ice cream! Yay! Peaked in the window and saw unusual flavors such as olive oil ice cream, strawberry balsamic with black pepper, vanilla... More
