Having been to Barcelona, I can say that this place serves authentic tapas, and is consistently a pleasing experience. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the restaurant itself maintains a not too fancy atmosphere. I love Toro Bravo, and would definitely recommend it as Portland's top tapas bar.

Been to this restaurant many times now and each time something new to blow me away. I've tasted more perfectly cooked vegetables here done simple but different ways (e.g. first time I had grilled asparagus several years ago and now make it myself all the time). Last time we Arugula Fritters that were so awesome we ordered a second batch.... More

Based primarily on other TripAdvisor reviews, Toro Bravo was visited for dinner this evening. Since I was alone, and this is a tapas bar, I ordered a selection of cheeses, bread, and a glass of wine (Oregon Pinot Noir). This "dinner" was delicious, and satisfying.

My first tapas experience. I ah read that there were long waits, particularly on Saturday PM when they do not take reservations. So we arrived before opening and waited. It was fascinating to watch as over 100 people poured into this restaurant, filling every table within 10 minutes of opening! What a challenge for a kitchen! To keep it simple,... More

My wife had been here years before we met. She remembered it being quite good. It was fantastic. Food, staff, souroundings at the top. We went late Saturday afternoon. They opened at 5PM. When we got there at 4:45 there was a line waiting to get in. By the time we found parking place and got seated it was full.... More

We've eaten here several times, and we've enjoyed ourselves tremendously each time. A wide range of traditional and untraditional tapas, with a good selection of wines and beer. Eat a little or eat a lot, this is a place to try.

A friend and I eat at a different Portland restaurant every month; this month was Toro Bravo's turn. We each had the Tasting Menu, seven courses selected by the chef. Both of us decided that it was one of the best meals we have had in a while, though there were a few courses that we rated slightly less than... More

Me and 12 friends decided to book a table at this highly rated restaurant. Portland is quirky, and so is this restaurant, in a fantastic, cultural way!Very hip and cool. From the time we entered,we found the atmosphere, the patrons and the staff gave us a feel for Portland. Then the food arrived. A succulent mix of vegetarian, vegan and meat lovers... More

I loved the food -- small plates and large. Very creative menu items, and everything we tried was delicious. The wait times can be long -- especially on Friday and Saturday evening.

I decided on Toro Bravo for a late Valentine's Day dinner after reading the reviews online. Unfortunately on a Saturday night they don't take reservations so we had an hour wait to get a table. This wasn't bad because there are plenty of places right down the street to have a drink while you wait. I'm glad we did wait... More
