This is a cool blast. Built in 1762 it will remind you of the Beekman Arms in Rheinbeck NY if you have been there. We were traveling through and it took a few minutes to find, but we will find it many more times. The ambiance is wonderful, the service is attentive but not polished at all. It is friendly... More

Stop in at the hewn timber cabin gift shop before dinner - it closes at 9. It is like a jewel box - everything inside is beautiful! Then on to the restaurant - an 18th century stone structure with great beams. Good microbrews on tap. I had the chicken salad with berries, sugared walnuts and blue cheese - excellent. The... More

We went here for dinner during a weekend stay in Bedford. It is a very historic looking building and the menu/placemat provide some historical details that are pretty interesting. We had a great meal with friendly service. The inside looks like a log cabin, feels very rustic, and is really comfortable. The menu has a lot of variety and seems... More

We drove the old Lincoln Hwy from Lancaster area to Ligonier and the JB Tavern was a breath of fresh air amid a lot of disappointments. It's a beautiful bldg in a beautiful location. We only had french dip and burger outside on the upper balcony and food was just fine, nothing great, but the selection of beers was phenomenal,... More

We really enjoyed the dining experience here. The food is delicious and well priced, also a good variety. We've eaten here during our family reunions and the value is so much better than what we received at the Bedford Springs Resort.

I've been here several times and the food is always good and the service is even better. Well worth the litte extra that you will pay. Super atmosphere. Sit by the fireplace in the winter and it will take you back in time. Try the oatmeal pie! Wow!

Stop for a meal before long ride home on turnpike. Went to tavern and sat at bar. Nice atmosphere. Very clean. Waited on right away Ordered French onion soup, fried oysters and tavern salad with chicken. All the food was very good. Salad topped with fries, perfection. Beverages very good and the check for the food quantity and quality was... More

on a long road trip, there is too much food that all blends together, but not at Jean Bonnet Tavern. It isn't quite as close to the highway, as some reviews might have indicated, but thanks to google maps, and some nav assistance, we got there, and once there had a great meal, with solid beer choices, and were in... The food and atmosphere is wonderful, plus the historical aspects of the location gives it a 5 point rating from me. My daughter enjoyed the little petting "zoo" located outside of the tavern. The area the tavern is located has a wonder view of the surrounding mountains if you choose to have lunch or dinner outside on the patio. We... More

Recommended to us by some locals and those recommendations always require a visit. Fresh homemade comfort food. Great gift shop with a beautiful, unique selection of household adornments.
