Description: Home 231 creates a comfortable yet stylish restaurant that offers contemporary home-style cuisine, service and atmosphere. Our chef has created a menu that utilizes local products, ranging from meats and poultry, to farm fresh eggs and seasonal produce. Our food is described as simple and approachable American food with a modern touch. Join us indoors or outdoors on our courtyard and allow our servers to create a dining experience you will remember. Our outside patio is booked on a first come first serve basis. Making a reservation for the courtyard does not guarantee the courtyard seating, but we try to accomodate all requests. Private parties in the courtyard will move all requests for outside to our indoor dining room.

Always looking for a great place to eat when visiting Harrisburg, found this one on my last trip. Was alone so I planned on eating at the bar. The bar was packed so the host found me a table to sit and have a drink while I waited for a seat to open up at the bar. I ordered an... More

Home 231 does everything right! While you won't see this restaurant from a main street, it is well worth the turn down a quiet city street to find to dine here. I have eaten here several times for dinner, and have had a wonderful experience every time. Home 231 is a farm-to-table restaurant with tasty, fresh ingredients. In addition to... More

We walked into the restaurant looking for a cozy dinner. When entering the restaurant you pass the bar and the smell coming from the the bar detergent was OVERWHELMING. We were seated in the dining area squished between two tables and the bar smell was still overpowering. We were going to leave, but I thought the smell would dissipate. It... More

This is a lovely pace that reminds me of restaurants in New York City. Long and narrow with modern decor. On a recent weekday, the bar was packed and I can see why.The cocktails are delightful. Our party all had entrees except myself. I had a salad with smoked trout and a "small" plate which was as large as my... More

I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor, and since it was new to the area (at least to me), decided to visit it, especially since it was a little out of the way and not really one of the 2nd street/downtownish "mainstays", some of which are outstanding, others that have gotten worse. Anyhow, the other thing that drew me to... More

The food is excellent and varied and the service was very good. Three of us ordered all different small plates and entrees to sample a variety and everything was fabulous. You wouldn't think you would find grilled baby octopus and Mac and Cheese on the same menu but both were perfect as was the Arancini. The Pork Osso Bucco was... More

We just happened to be walking by the location a few weeks ago and spotted this "smallish" restaurant to add to our list to try. Glad that we did. Took the wife there for her birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious, the presentation lovely, and the service was very good. The portions were just right for me,... More

The food at this restaurant was excellent and presentation was also very nice. Entry into the restaurant was unclear and we went to one door, then to the side of the building before realizing another attached brownstone was where the entrance was. Entry into the bar was OK, but had to walk to the center of the restaurant in order... More

I haven't had a bad meal (lunch or dinner) here. Prepared with a lot of local food items, portions are not too small nor too big. Presentation & service are good. For a treat after the meal, try their homemade ice cream and/or donuts (ball shaped), which usually come out hot and with dipping sauces (chocolate, vanilla & fruit). You... More

I don't mind walking, but I do mind driving and driving till I find a parking spot. The new and convenient free parking for Mangia Qui and Home 231 will definitely make these higher on my dining list. Delicious cocktails, nice happy hour prices (5-7 pm), very good food, mostly locally sourced. Highs: Greek salad, baby beet salad. The drinks.... More
