We visited Beaufort in May 2013 while camping at Hunting Island State Park, and we found Common Ground while on a quest for coffee. (There was nothing on St. Helena, closer to the park). We enjoyed relaxing on the porch with our dog, watching the view of the waterfront, while drinking our coffee. The coffee itself was average, but the...

When I get together with a friend for coffee and a peaceful place where we can visit or if I just want some quiet time to myself, Common Ground is always the place where I go.
It:
* is locally owned and operated,
* has an outside porch where you can sit and have one of the best views possible...

Common Ground has a great location on the water, good, not great, coffee, and great staff. But the place needs cleaned up!!!
Porches are filthy, interior needs painted, furniture is old, filthy dirty (stained). Take a day or two, shut down, and clean it up. Your customers deserve a clean place to enjoy the coffee...and the Wifi could be upgraded,...

Coffee was great and the barrista was beyond effecient! She moved very quickly and still turned out a great latte. Nice location, very pleased!

The inviting interior has reading material, conversational seating areas, and even a long table for a business meeting. The coffee is good with a great variety, the second cup is on the house, I enjoyed the generous sized coffee mugs and pastry. It was a...

We have been to common ground a few times and are locals of Beaufort. The owner was extremely rude to us and we have heard of her being rude to other people. For example, I had my laptop plugged into the wall, which was 2 feet behind me, and she barked at me about blocking the path with the cord...

The ladies behind the counter were having a disagreement, they seemed unhappy. One person wore a dirty tee shirt. The cookie I ordered was so stale I wouldn't eat it. The coffee was very weak, drank only half of that. Don't you hate it when you miss your morning coffee.? There was no common ground.
The location of this cafe with a great veranda is one its outstanding features. They have a large variety of coffee but refills are quite expensive... You can also taste some deli food inside the cafe or sitting down in the large veranda. Worth a visit
When in town this is a must do, lots of times. I love this place. Best coffee shop I have EVER been to without a doubt.
