Description: The Macintosh opened in September 2011 in downtown Charleston, SC. Located downstairs from its sister lounge, the Cocktail Club, and bearing the one-time name of the alley that runs alongside the building, the Macintosh explores the breadth of Lowcountry flavors in a comfortable setting. Executive Chef and partner Jeremiah Bacon showcases his talent for creating upscale, American cooking using the seasonal bounty provided by his local farmers and fishermen throughout The Macintosh's menu.

Absolutely amazing! Try the Deckle, absolutely delish. The sausage appetizer was very very smooth. Such a lovely place to grab a great meal!

The food is extraordinary. The cocktails are terrific. If you are the least bit adventurous try the unusual stuff on the menu, you will love it. Our table shared the scallops, deckle and veggie plate and it was a truly satisfy combination. On the downside, it is a trendy spot, the kind where the waiters have an attitude and the... More

Just an amazing meal. Our server was tremendous- attentive, helpful and knowledgable. The food was off the charts. We live in Washington DC and have been to some amazing hometown restaurants but I would put Macintosh up against any DC restaurant. The appetizers were great (I can't recommend the Grouper Brandade enough!!) the main course was executed perfectly and even... More

First, let me say that our waiter, Russ, was sublime. He knew the ingredients of every dish we asked of him. He made recommendations. He was a joy to behold and worth every dime we left him in the tip. Now, on to the food. Having read about deckle (says Melissa Clark in "The New York Times": "For lovers of... More

Normally like this executive chefs meals but this one fell short. Portions were somewhat skimpy, undercooked for what I ordered. Average at best for a restaurant that is supposedly tauted as one one Americas best.

I was in town for an Alumni weekend and a friend suggested The Macintosh. Right from the start the experience was great. We waited for our table only for a few minutes, the cocktail waitress was able to get us drinks while we waited and then we were seated shortly after. The place was busy with activity of a restaurant... More

Since this restaurant opened, in a city where the farm to table trend is almost expected I have been always super-pleased with the food pairings, service, ambiance and overall experience.

Dinner on a friday night, seated promptly, great service, food quality & presentation was excellent but menu isn't especially appetizing. I'm reasonably sophisticated diner but many items needed explanation. My duck was excellent but the chickpea salad accompaniment wasn't really something I'd want with it. Lonzino (I found out is a procuitto type ham) salad was very good but very... More
