On the 1st night of a getaway to celebrate our anniversary we ate at the Brass Lantern (recommended by the Garden Inn B&B who also set up reservations with a discount). Because we were somewhat early (great to beat the crowd) it took awhile to get seated (seats were a little uncomfortable due to age & use probably but nothing... More

We ate here on a recent trip across Tennessee while staying at a nearby hotel. The restaurant is attached to a "winery" - one of those liquor stores that pretend to be a winery as well. The decor is a bit tawdry, dated, and worse for wear. However, we found the menu to be quite extensive and offered a good... More

When it first opened (5 years ago??) I thought that it was much better and a relief to find in our restaurant waste land here. The last visit was for lunch with 6 people, and not one of us had anything that we thought was good. The water with lemon slice was OK. Way overpriced for what was delivered....maybe dinner... More

We are travelling through TN and stopped for the night. We saw the restaurant and thought it would be a great place for our "steak night". I drove over to check out the menu and was quite impressed. What I got was the toughest filet I have ever been served. My husbands New York Strip was a great disappointment, it... More

Our family went to the Brass Lantern for a celebration. While the inside looked a little dated, the food and service was excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant for anything from a celelbration to just a night out. We did take our two children, who were 3 and 8, at the time. I am not sure I would take... More

Food is so excellent and in this case, you get what you pay for. If you go there with at least two people, you may want to bring at least $75. That being said, the food IS excellent. I guess I should state that NO MEAL is worth $75 to me no matter HOW good it is. So, I may... More

Brass Lantern aims for upscale, but fails to shine--literally. First, the food. At our table: ribeye, duck breast, pasta dish. The ribeye was decent, the duck dry, the pasta dish tasty. Our appetizer, bruschetta, was not good. We sent it back, which is not something we do often. The tomatoes were canned at best, starting to spoil at worst. The... More

This place was right across the street from the hotel we stayed at while in Crossville. We had a group of 4 and waited about 15 min to get a drink even though the place was not crowded at all. The steak I had was very fatty and low quaility for the price of 25 dollars. I could do better... More

In town on business by myself, looking for a quiet, close upscale dinner option. Since it was across the street from the hotel, the Hampton inn and was HIGHLY recommended by the desk staff it seemed worth a try. The previous comments in reviews the admonishing to 'dress up' made me chuckle. This is a quaint local place. Hand painted... More
