We were in Memphis, and figuring there would be excellent barbecue, we searched on Google for best barbecue in the US. This place came up (along with a coupler others from Memphis, that we haven't (yet) been to.) We hadn't had dry ribs before, and these were fantastic! Very meaty, slipped off the bones, and such a tasty rub that... More

We always come here when we visit Memphis. The barbeque pulled pork sandwich on Texas toast is amazing! Big chunks of tender pork, tangy chopped slaw, and just the right amount of sauce. The fries are great too. The bbq nachos are delicious but very salty.

The ribs are tender, but that should be expected. It's their very own sauce that puts them over the top. You can find their sauce in some local groceries. And it's what I use at home when I BBQ.

Sometimes, "accidents" seem almost... providential. Shortly before traveling through Memphis, I happened across a review of the Bar-B-Q Shop. Since many of our downtown favorites were closed for Memorial Day, my wife, daughter and I decided to give this new "old" restaurant and, WOW, are we glad we did! Affordable priced (low $10s), this restaurant served up one of the... More

So many better BBQ places to try. All sauces were salty. Ribs fell off the bone, and not in a good way. Beef sandwich was good. Pulled pork was good. The sauce was overpowering.

We like to tr as many BBQ places as possible and this REally good. I recommend the pulled pork on TExas toast with slaw and yummy seasoned fries. The wait staff and service was great.

My husband and I were in Memphis with friends this April and were loking for authentic BBQ. We found it at The Bar-B-Q Shop. Very casual with amazing food. Be ready to get your hands dirty with sauce. We all loved our ribs, cole slaw, beans and bisquits! This is the real deal for BBQ, if thats what you're looking... More

I don't share some of the opinions of folks who have raved about the food here. I think it was good, and the service was good. Parking on street was difficult and parking in back didn't thrill me. We waited for a space to open up on Madison Ave in front of the place. We had dry rubbed ribs and... More

We went to Memphis really to see Graceland , but once there, realized that this was our chance to experience the famous Memphis BBQ. After getting the advice of some locals, off we went to find the BBQ Shop on Madison st in central downtown Memphis. From the outside, the restaurant was nothing to catch your eye, but upon entering,... More

We at here for a late lunch and it was so good and I ate so much I didn't have dinner. We had the dry rub ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and bbq spaghetti along with sides. Everything was great and I didn't want to stop eating. This is the first time I have had dry rub ribs and I highly... More
