Description: Peli Peli, Houston's most extraordinary new restaurant, is an upscale casual restaurant at the Vintage Park Shopping Center (NW Houston) that features a 30-foot tall, one-of-a-kind Acacia Tree and illuminated sky, live jazz, a Sunday brunch, full bar & lounge, an intimate private dining room and an outdoor patio facing the Piazza. Peli Peli’s menu will feature its signature steak, chicken and seafood cuisine created by Chef Paul Friedman. Chef Paul has had over 35 years of experience in the restaurant industry, having owned and operated successful restaurant concepts in South Africa and Germany, as well as being the creator of Paul’s Pizza Shop, a nationally-recognized pizza concept in North Houston. Executive Chef Paul Friedman has utilized the Peli Peli spice in an innovative, new way to create his own infusion of spice with exotic fruits from Southern Africa and Europe such as Guava, Granadilla (passion fruit), papaya and mango.

This place was fun, with quality food, and an excellent wine selection. Surf and turf was perfect, steak prepared just right, and the prawns huge and tender. Only knock is that the group next to us was so noisy, it was impossible to carry on a conversation all night...

I used to come to this restaurant once a week just for the cheesecake - sooo goood!!! flavour, texture, size is all perfect! Food is good too - I like the cuscus and usually order the fish rice might be too seasoned to my taste (since I like to enjoy good taste without an overwhelming strong flavour - unless is... More

Tried Mothers Day Brunch. A bit pricy but OMG good. The presentation of the food is amazing and the food was off the charts. Had the Huguenot Filet with South African Eggs Benedict. Wow!

The menu has most of its items fused with S. African style cuisine (although I have to admit, I have no clue as to what that type of cuisine is). The food was fresh, tasty, and on par portions. The sides were creative and unique for sure. The wait staff were simply OK, nothing memorable. Overall, we enjoyed the experience,... More

I go to Peli Peli several times and year and it is getting better every time. The variety of menu is extraordinary from the appetizers to the Kudu steak. I go just to sample foods I have never had before. The restaurant is a little noisy but the booths seem to be better. Services is great. The prices are on... More

Medium rare should done right but when I ordered the filet tips and scallops on the a bed of spinach the meat came out with very little pink in the middle, completely over done. The scallops I must say were overcooked on the grill also. If this is a fine dining restaurant, tell me why they only offer coffee from... More

We purchased a Groupon for this restaurant, and since it's a bit of a haul from the Woodlands, we didn't get here on time, so our groupon expired. Our friends were in the same situation. We had both wanted to go, since we travel a lot and had recently been to South Africa and love the country. Our friends actually... More

This is one of our favorit Places to go for dinner when we're at the mall! When we told the server how much we liked the food, she brought out the chef to talk to us. They really work hard to make there customers happy. I am also real partial to a great ambiance, a super important thing for me.... More

I always seek restaurants that aren't shy on the seasoning and Peli Peli fit that description. The Espetada is fantastic. It is a hanging skewer of marinated beef with ample sides. All the side dishes at Peli Peli are excellent. Their mango slaw is the best I've had anywhere. And as many people commented, the Sticky Toffee Pudding desert is... More

Until this morning, I’d only been to Peli Peli at lunch with “the ladies” but wanted to try something new for Sunday brunch as a family. The patio was full at noon, but our family of three was seated right away at an indoor table even without a reservation. No complimentary mimosas (boo-hoo), so we ordered some tasty flatbread to...
