This place is ok. Neat neghborhood joint with great beer selections. However the service was very slow and only delivered the food. You had to go inside to order anything and had to search for silverware, condiments, salt, pepper, etc. The food was good but I didn't find it to be anything special. In addition it's very small and most... More

This place is hidden and I can't believe I haven't noticed it before. Not until I came across it on yelp and all the reviews that raved about how amazing it was. I'm really surprised there aren't many reviews on TA. The hungry hippie is an amazing mix of turkey, cream cheese and cranberrys. Perfect! Tasted the Rancor (what everyone... More

One of the best in Houston. An old gas station turned into a beer pub. Don't expect to see any beer from brewers that make commercials. Over 30 taps. Burgers are great. The Rancor is close to legend in Houston now. A bit off the beaten path, so you'll want to use GPS to guide you in the first time.... More

Old gas station turned bar. Lots of beer on tap and some good choices of food. Go there quite often after work. I hate giving this review since I don't want my local bar taken over!

This bar is right in my neighborhood and is one of my favorites! Their beer selection is amazing! The first time I ever came here I was extremely overwhelmed and only recognized one beer on the list. However, the bartenders are super friendly and will let you try a sample of anything before you get a pint. The pub burger... More

I came looking for craft brews and brought my growler for a fill up. I liked the selection of hoppy and malty beers; hops and malt are two of my most favorite things! The bartender was knowledgeable and helpful and offered a taste before fill-up. A friendly touch. I arrived at 5 (opening time) and several folks walked in shortly... More

Beef stew was outstanding. Beer selection is somewhat large but kind of weird; focused on dark beers and IPA's. Lacking in choices for midlevel session ales. There also seems to be a lack of actual microbrews from Houston; most are imported from other states. Staff is nice, music is good.

We drove in from the suburb (approx. 30 min drive) for their hamburger and that was delicious. However the crab grilled cheese was disappointing. The crowd (and it was crowded) was full of 20 something year old with a speckle of foodies in their 40's. Loud, no waitstaff for seconds on beer and food is made to order so the... More

Nice place to chill reminds me of Austin. Doesnt get too crowded so at least enjoy great conversation with friends as you chill. Great beer selections.

First... for the review below about the kitchen being closed... renovations are done and it's open. They get some fantastic and often hard to find beers on tap. They are also very knowledgable and can help you find something you like through a bit of questioning. The Rancor Burger is one of the best in Houston. The pulled pork sammich... More
