We had breakfast here - pancakes, eggs, bacon and biscuits. The biscuits are excellent. Large serving size for the money. Service is pretty slow but why be in a hurry in Livingston ? There is a smoking and non-smoking section in the restaurant.

My dad and I pulled in here seeking refuge during a sudden Texas thunderstorm and were delighted to find a warm and inviting diner. From the outside, you could miss it,as it is tucked next to an old service station. But on the inside it has ample seating and a host of friendly people eager to serve and assist. A...

the owner is almost always in the restaurant greeting regulars by name and making everyone feel welcome. Food is warm and tasty. A place where can sit a spell and visit with your friends and neighbors.
We'd heard from friends that Charlie's was a great place to eat, but I was hesitant of the truck stop appearance. When we finally stopped here for dinner one evening, we were quite surprised. Don't let the truck stop look fool you! The interior is bright and clean although the ordor of thesmoking side does spill over. The service was slow but expected for a roadside stop. The people where friendly and the food, when it finely arrived was servered hot and tasty.
It looked like a dump when we pulled up. The interior is pretty nondescript. That being said, the Reuben was divine! The chicken fried chicken was delicious. The salad bar is a bit sad. There's not a lot on it. The service, was stellar. Our water and drinks never got to the half way point. The waitress was fairly busy...

A nice local place to eat with decent food and prices.
We go for breakfasts and sandwiches. The Waitstaff is very nice and attentive Food is always hot and fresh. I've never in 12 years had a bad or less than great experience there! Clean, Comfortable surroundings and very good food!
Food was fair. Salad bar quality was low avg to avg. The dirty ashtray smell of this older restaurant overwhelms you as you enter the door... fortunately there was a no-smoking section in the back (helped some). The crowning point was while I was washing my hands in the dirty bathroom... the dark-haired-pony-tailed waitress came out of the stall (with...

We stopped here for breakfast on the way to SFA one morning and were very glad we did.
