We have been patrons of JD since day one. We have been loyal, rolled with the price increases and still enjoyed the food. But tonight was the second time we have waited an extremely long time to be served. Last time we waited an hour. Tonight it was 2 hours! No salads, no chips, no crackers, no bread and we... More

Not a really great experience. Watching my friends enjoying their good (but expensive) crab stuffed flounder "special" while I tried to gag down cold, doughy crab cakes did not make for a good evening. Had everyone else at the table try my crab cakes and they received a unanimous thumbs down. Seriously. It is a seafood place. How hard is... More

Was extremely disappointed with food, service and especially prices. I suggested restaurant to my family and after experience am embarrassed. Nothing special and be prepared to pay TOP dollar. Crab cakes were mostly breading, fried food was nothing special and food was cold when we finally got it.

JD's had been recommended to us by a coworker of my husbands as being a great place for seafood. The interior has a very casual, nautical vibe and is nothing fancy or pretentious. The food though is very good. I had the Crab stuffed Flounder which was wonderful and portion was so big that two adults could have shared it.... More

Had lunch here yesterday and it was a very pleasant experience. Located at Cove Harbor there were a multitude of boats around though the restaurant is on the highway but had a nice, beachy feel to it. Wait staff were pleasant & attentive. We had a fried shrimp poor boy and a Phili cheese steak. I much preferred the shrimp... More

If you are not a fan of fried seafood, JD's might not be the place for you. But if you do like fried seafood, you will be in heaven here. JD's fried shrimp and oysters are among the best I have ever eaten. The place has a casual, beach-shack atmosphere, and the service was pleasant. Nothing fancy, but if you... More

The food was just average. Not very many selections that were not fried. When we asked if we could get a shrimp platter half blackened & half fried the response was, "I will ask, JD is pretty picky about mixing his shrimp". It is also BYOB so there was an obnoxious group before us who had over drank and were... More

Food was pretty good, except the stuffed flounder. We had fried seafood, chicken fried steak, crab balls, etc. The stuffed flounder seemed good as well, maybe just a bad piece of fish(maybe they were unaware)! It's also BYOB, which was fine. Atmosphere was a little drab. I would try it again!

I only gave "food" a rating because it was required,as we never got to taste the food. When we ordered, we asked the waitress if it would be a long wait(we only had so much time for lunch), and she replied,(and I quote) "about 20 minutes, tops...15...". well we waited for 40 minutes before anyone even checked to see if... My husband and I went to JD's for the first time this this evening and we were pleasantly surprised. I'm not a fish eater so the aroma of fish kind of hit me at the front door. It is however a Seafood Restaurant so no wonder it smelled like fish. They have a wonderful choice of things to choose from... More
