I love the variety of bakery items, the warm atmosphere of the store itself and the friendliness of the staff. It is always one of the highlights of my week to stop by and see what's been made - especially if they've made the duffin (an amazing combination of donut and muffin that easily makes my list of favorite baked... I moved to Montpelier from NYC and let's just say, humbly, that I know good eats. I don't recall how I found the Birchgrove but I will say that my life in VT changed from that moment on. I have happily bought and eaten their cakes, pastries and cookies for over 3 years now and have yet to try everything... More

“Best Bakery Ever”

We stop here often for wonderful lattes and scrumptious scones, cookies, and pastries. The signature items are small desserts, priced at about $6 each, that work well if you want to sample several options. We especially like the bread pudding, key lime pie, and tres leches with mango. The staff are also friendly and helpful.

We were travelling through Vermont on our way to Montreal and were excited to stop here for lunch after reading their website and seeing the number 2 ranking. “Enjoyed my latte and scone”

Very happy to find Birchgrove Baking away from downtown Montpelier. My latte was delicious and the cheddar bacon scone was great. I highly recommend that you go here if you are in Montpelier.

I haven't found better mouse, desserts generally. Very much like the best kind of baked goods you'd find in New York. Very creative and sometimes whimsical. And something very every one with a sweet tooth.

The bakery is like if you were in a book, everything is pretty and cute, and delicious looking. Service is great, goods are amazing. I definitely recommend the place, it will make your day cheerful and beautiful.

This tiny boutique bakery delivers the most exquisitely prepared pastries, scones, tarts and cakes. You can not go wrong here! Buy yourself a raspberry nutella scone, order a coffee, and enter the realm of bliss. And then there are the icecream sandwiches.
