I live at the oceanfront and spend time in Norfolk. This is by far the best all around. If you haven't tried the spicy cucumber salad you're missing out...no other restaurant offers it.

I recently went to eat at Daikichi and don't let the word "Bistro" fool you - it's not a petite bijou meal that you will receive - depending on what you get is how big your plate will be but I guarantee you that you will not leave the place feeling hungry. The sushi is made fresh daily - right...

Very authentic and delicious Japanese bento box lunch and dinners. Japanese staff. Table seating, sushi bar seating and traditional low seating on tatami floor with zabuton cusions. Sometime has foods imported from Japan that are in season; mushrooms, oysters, seafoods (soft shell shrimp).
Daikichi is one of the only Japanese-owned sushi restaurants in Hampton Roads, and it shows in their menu. So many of their authentic Japanese dishes are simply not available at other restaurants. Arrived late, almost at closing but we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. Varied menu, nice presentation and very good sushi. Quick and friendly service. If I lived in the area, I would visit often.
Recently ate here for a friends birthday. The food was high quality, flavorful, with excellent service. Also there are options for the non-sushi eater like fully cooked teriyaki chicken, etc.
Once you walk in you are it is small but more quaint. Good atmosphere great service!!! The spicy tuna roll is always the safety but try the typhoon roll kind of spicy but super yum!!! Good pricing go go go!!!

My wife and I have been going here for six years now, and we've never had any complaints - the food is really good, the staff...

I went here with my daughter. She ordered a roll and there was literally no fish. When I complained to the sushi chef (he was the owner) he replied "so what, what you gonna do about it?" very rude poor service and I would NEVER go back!
