Located at Taylor's Port Lodge it has a panoramic view of Porto. That's the best thing about this restaurant. The food was below average for a restaurant of this type (white tablecloth, tuxedoed waiter and above average prices). Service OK but not friendly or cordial. Wouldn't return!

After about nine months, our dinner here is one of the most vivid memories of our trip to Porto. The view over the river was gorgeous. The food was excellent! Although the kitchen definetely has some local cuisine, it does have refined food for all those who are tired of the bacalao and coteletas. Not a budget place, but a... More

Our tour guide arranged dinner at Barao de Fladgate for our group of five. The dinner was preceded by an excellent guided tour of the cellars (caves); this winery has been operating since the 17th century! The restaurant is high on a hill overlooking Porto and in the evening the views are spectacular with the lights of the city glistening... More

We had visited Taylor's port and decided we would eat at the Barao de Fladgate as it was on the site. What a great experience. Wonderful view from the terrace over looking the port houses and the Douro River. Great menu with a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes. Great wine list both average price but also some... More

Just had a fantastic evening at this restaurant. Location and views are outstanding. The restaurant itself feels very special. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being evenly slightly intrusive. We were served a glass of port and a very tasty selection of bread, olives, cheese etc whilst we chose from the menu. Starters were delicious and the mains, black... More

Definitely stay for dinner after the tasting (or even come if you don't like port). Excellent food and service and great view. Just make sure to specify how you'd like your meat cooked.

This restaurant is part of the Taylor/Fladgate Port premises. The port wine tour beforehand was most interesting. The port itself of course was wonderful. The dining room and the view from the terrace were first class. However the food was distinctly mediocre. Go for the ambience and interest, but don't go just for the food.

Our hotel recommended that we eat at this restaurant on our recent visit to Oporto. The night we originally requested there was a wedding going on in their 'room with a view"; but we went anyway. We are so glad that we did. The wait staff was so attentive, we had their tasting room all to ourselves. A very private... More
