We were looking for somewhere to go for dinner and didn't want a chain restaurant. Drove past This place and there was a mob outside so we figured this was the place to be. Long wait but you can grab a cocktail and hang outside. Seemed like locals and tourists go here. The crab soup and crab dip were amazing!... More

I couldn't begin to count how many times we've been to Sam's and have never had a bad experience. Yes, it's popular and gets very crowded, but there's a reason for that. The kitchen staff works their butts off from the tiniest kitchen imaginable and nail it, whether it's seafood, burgers or some special Clint has concocted- At first I... More

Loved the food, good price. First time we had to wait but was worth it. I eat there every time I go to Virginia Beach and have never been disappointed.

As a bar it looks to be a great local hangout as my wife and I visited in mid-April so the tourists weren't there and the place was crowded as we left. The she-crab soup I had was really good and would get it again. I also had a crab cake sandwich that was slightly disappointing. Wasn't much in the... More

We look forward to breakfast and a Bloody Mary at Big Sam's every time we visit VB. Popular, low key, casual, local hangout on the inlet - good for tourists who discover it. It can get busy at times, but waitresses are friendly and the kitchen is fast. We've never been disappointed whether it's breakfast or lunch. Delicious seafood menu.

Walked from resort to Big Sam's I am not a burger person, but I tried the Charbroil Bacon Cheese Burger, cooked to medium well. OMG it was delicious, it's served on Potato Bread which a plus, and Robert had the Fried Oyster Sandwich, he said were some of the best fried oysters he has had, this was served on a... More

We visited during breakfast hours, had to wait about 15 minutes which wasn't bad. We were seated next to a window with a view of the boats dock outside which was ok b/c I like the water. The decor was dated but the fireplace was cozy. Now for the food.... I hope dinner is better than breakfast which was basic....... More
