That it is rare, incredibly rare to find a business let alone a restaurant where past diners send in from all over the world hand written cards thanking Edna for the fantastic food and service she provides. My husband and I found Max's last month when we moved to Seattle and went in search of some great food for a... More

Food and service were very mediocre. Too high a price for the quality they are providing. I was not impressed and have found many other small places in the area where the food, atmosphere and service are much better than this place. Not too many reviews on this site and being they all came in close to the same time... More

This is a tiny restaurant and it is usually busy so bring your patience - but the wait is worth it! I believe that my family has tried almost everything on the menu at one time or another and has loved it all. It is a bit pricey for the kids but their favorites are the fish tacos and the... More

This is a hole in the wall in downtown Issaquah and easy to miss. you may think the menu is a little pricey at first glance but it is SO worth it. The food is soooo good. there are often specials each week and the dishes always have a slight, but not overwhelming, Indian influence. Try the pasty for an... More

The place is tiny, I mean so tiny they actually have a table in the kitchen! Don't be fooled by its size or modest front, the food is fantastic. Unusual blends of Portuguese and Indian food. the meat is cooked perfectly.

My husband and I were visiting the area, had tickets for a play in Issaquah and wanted to have dinner close by before hand. Well he found Max's on the internet and we decided to try it. It was such a delight. Tiny, tiny space, we made reservations! The owner is the hostess/waitress/chef, so be patient and don't be in... More

I visited Bothell for business and a colleague recommended this jem. We started with a Portuguese sausage, cheese, & pesto on French bread which was awesome. I had the African Portuguese Chicken which was seasoned to perfection. Another colleague had the lamb shank which was fall of the bone tender. Its a small restaurant cozy restaurant that seems to only... More

My wife and I have lived in Issaquah for many years and had never run across this place until recently. A yelp search showed us this place that we never knew existed. What a tremendous find. Small place with a focused menu, but some of the best food I have ever had. I travel full time for business and the... More

I've lived in this town for 20 years and have tried every restaurant that's ever opened up here. So how the heck did I miss this one, Max's World Cafe, which has been around for several years? A long time friend suggested it, we made reservations for 5:15 on a Thursday night, and WOW, we got to sit at the... More

Well, I wrote a very long, gushing, and elaborate review of Max's World Cafe which got deleted by TA during maintenance, so I will have to make it short and sweet this time. Everything is wonderful here from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Don't miss the Lamb Shank, and if you go for brunch the... More
