On our way back to Seattle from the Olympia National Park needed diner and found this place listed on TripAdvisor. In our grubby hiking clothes, I do not feel we experienced this place in all it's glory but the food was truly special. We both had homemade pasta, my husband with lots of yummy seafood and myself with pesto and... More

My husband took me on a surprise birthday date, we were both dressed casually and fit in at the restaurant. All of the food was amazing! Their pasta is homemade. My husband ordered the wild boar and I ordered the mushroom Alfredo (the actual names of the dishes are in Italian, so these are just basic descriptions.) the food was... More

Cozy little restaurant, good for a romantic dinner. I had the eggplant parmesan (or in Italian, as on the menu, Melanzane Alla Parmigiana), and it was probably the best I've ever had. I also ordered the lasagna, which like pastrami sandwiches in delicatessens is my litmus test for Italian restaurants. What arrived was large, about 4 by 6 inches and... More

If you're not in a hurry and want a truly authentic Italian cuisine with fresh homemade pasta, breads, etc., this is the place! Great variety of dishes to choose from, plus they offer gluten free options as well. Small and quaint, weekends, definitely get reservations! Oh and did I mention the wine list, fab...

Olympia has four outstanding restaurants run by chef-proprietors who oversee inventive menus, use of the finest ingredients, well prepared food, and professional service--Basilico is one of these. Basilico consistently offers fine food, well paired wines, and excellent service. The style of food is northern Italian. Basilico has a rather extensive menu for a small restaurant. There are a dozen or... More

We came to Basilico last summer and were completely bowled over by the friendly, warm welcome we received by the owners and staff as well as the authenticity and quality of the food. On our way home to Oregon from Canada today, we timed our journey through Olympia to coincide with dinner time and made a reservation. As we walked... More

Basilico is a tasty piece of Genoa here in Olympia. The owners are a sweet couple who take pride in their business, and are actually from Genoa. The pasta is freshly made, the sauces are amazing, and the wine list is affordable and an awesome collection of Italian labels. We go on a regular basis.

We have been going to this restaurant for years, Every meal, every occasion has been superb. Having moved from Olympia a couple years ago, we had not been for a while so when a birthday came up there was no question that it would be worth the drive. The evening did not disappoint. Their wine list is daunting, they used... More

Ended up walking out of Basilico. The service was poor, the menu typical, and the wait staff was unfriendly.
