4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2013 NEW

We were staying at the Silver Cloud down the street and starting walking towards the Park and decided to check each of the 5 restaurants along the "strip". It was a balmy Thursday evening and everything was hopping - folks out celebrating the unseasonably warm weather - lines out the door of some establishments. The first 4 were fine, but... More

This Duke's is my favorite Duke's because of the bar area being airy and bright right on Commencement Bay. Wanting lighter fare and not having been here before, we were pleased with our table by the window along with the variety and prices of the Happy Hour menu. Wild Mexican Pacific Coconut Prawns with a sweet dipping sauce were the... More

We were pleasantly surprised at our impromptu visit to Duke's. The service was perfect. We were treated like humans with children instead of a nuisance in most nicer restaurants. The chowder was great--I had only the "canned stuff" to compare it to. I would definitely order it again. The fish for the kids was excellent- it was more flavorful than... More

I've eaten at Duke's in Tacoma several times, always expecting it to be a bit better than it turns out to be. Food is good, reasonably consistent, but not quite to that "next level" that one always hopes for when they have a meal. Nice place for casual dining, probably appeals to a wide audience, at reasonable prices. One of... More

Made reservations for 4 of us for lunch. The wait staff was excellent and very helpful on the extensive menu. We started with the crab cake appetizer and split it between us. It was yummy! Full of crab and flavor. The side greens were too garlicky for my taste, however. My companions all ordered the cup of famous clam chowder... More

Food was worth the wait... when we walked in we told we had a 40 minute wait, so we ordered a drink from the bar, it took less time 40 min to get our table. We started with a crab cakes yummy just as described more crab than cake. Laura our waitress was awesome, had confusion with my drink and... More

We found this place by accident, but I'm so glad we did. Apparently they only do brunch a couple of times a year but it was fantastic! Our server, Natalie, was friendly and helpful. We had a lovely table by the window with a fantastic view of the water and mountains. I had the eggs beneduke which was with crab-absolutely... More

My husband and I went there today for Easter. This was our first visit. Not sure we will return.I had the Seafood quiche which was dry and over cooked..My blueberry scone was over baked and dry. The clam chowder was tasty but not very hot. The coleslaw needed much more mayo. But on a positive note, the fish and chips... More

Food is good, service is prompt and courteous, and the Bloody Mary is fantastic! Prices are a bit high, but to be expected for fresh seafood. Try the red chowder (ciappino) and the crabby patty for taste and value.
