First off, I want to say that I WANTED to love Grey Rock. I don’t complain much, but celebrating our anniversary, we wanted everything to be perfect. We loved that we were able to walk to the restaurant from our hotel room. The setting is beautiful, overlooking the lake. We felt that the prices were very reasonable for a fine... More

Wife's steak was overdone. My swordfish was dry, tough, and tasteless. I need a knife to cut it. Seemed like it had been frozen. Garlic mashed potatoes were dry and crumbly. They were out of the Chef's Special desert and the chocolate cake was also dry and tastless. They did not seem ready for customers on a Saturday night in... More

The bartender was awesome in the Piano Bar! Great martini's, and wonderful relaxing entertainment! The food was excellent, and the chef made a special visit to our table! A little pricey, but worth it! Very classic! Frank Sinatra era-like!

The chefs appetizer was different and good - baked oysters with a raspberry habenero sauce. Then had the poblano corn soup and bacon Gorgonzola spinach salad - both we're good. Then the entrees: porterhouse steak and the seafood special - skate wing. The first round of food was cold, we had to send it all back. I will say the... More

Amazing food at a great price! 4 course meal with wine/food pairing for only $39.50. Tried new and exciting dishes like Wild Boar fritata and Quail. This is a must for anyone who has not tried it yet.

Chef Duane and Server Josh were fabulous! Best dining experience ever! Chef specialties were outstanding and Josh represented the nuances of the menu answering my long list of questions (yes I do have salad dressing on the side too!),

This is incredible, gourmet food and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the former stately private residence is fantastic. Saturday nights you are treated to fantastically talented pianists in the bar. We will be back!

Wished to celebrate St. Nicholas Day and went to Grey Rock, which we abandoned due to inconsistent service years ago. What a surprise! The bartender greeted us with smiles and conversation. Great area to visit and relax. Dinner downstairs was fabulous. Absolutely marvelous dinner with impeccable service. We will be back very soon, as we will this restaurant is where... More

We liked both the atmosphere, service and the food. They even serve alligator:) We were able to watch fireworks on the lake after dinner.

My husband and I were staying at the Heidel house for a golf package. Decided to try the Grey Rock to make our vacation special. We were not disappointed. The service was perfect. The food was very good. Presentation and flavor. We are still talking about his walleye dinner. It was incredible. My filet was done just as I ordered.... More
