Overpriced, slow service. Staff were indifferent. Food is OK but we were very disappointed. We will not go back, ever. I really can't believe it was recommended to us.

We went to Kate's on State for a romantic evening out. The place is small and intimate with eclectic decor. Check out the restrooms for a decorator with a sense of whimsy. Just went to the newest location in downtown La Crosse. It was outstanding - the building interior has been updated to retain the old atomsphere but with new conveniences. Best soup and sandwiches I've had lately - fare prices, great service...beautiful interior. We'll get back soon!

I've never been disappointed with Kate's. The menu is somewhat limited but just know that you will get the best food in the area. So go with anticipation and your palate will be tickled by whatever you choose.

Love the new location. I ordered the angry seafood because the waiter said it was the spiciest selection on the menu. It wasn't the least bit spicey.

but they are still called kate on state, go figure, they do have good food, now just more variety since combining their two restaurants (crunch)
