Who would have known that some of the best burgers anywhere are in this little town of Waimea in Hawaii? Somewhat similar to Fuddrucker's on the mainland but signficantly better quality.

Local products for the entire menu. Huge portions which could easily be split. Unique menu from beef to fish to vegetarian. The fries are great, I had Parmesan with sun dried tomato caper dip. Ono!
We usually went to Village Burger once a week. After multiple times of their being out of avocado, not offering the roasted garlic, fries that were overcooked and hard, we decided never to return. The rolls also seemed different as if they were cutting costs.
This place which is located in a shopping mall is small, but you can sit outside or in the main food hall. The meat is locally grown and ground daily. Burgers were great. Stopped because we saw them on the food network. Worth it. A bit pricey but again worth it. In a food court of a shopping center. The shopping center also has the most reasonable grocery store on the island! Closer to out resort than running into Kona. Just a FYI for the frugal traveler.

Don't let the location dissuade you. The ingredients are all locally sourced and you can tell the difference in the taste. I experienced taste bud overload on first bite into my burger... Local grass...

Village burger has Ono (delicious) burgers and food for everyone. Beef, lamb, and ahi fish burgers and beautiful ahi salad. For vegetarians, a mushroom burger and a taro burger are great choices. A gluten free bun is also available for those avoiding gluten. Shakes and fries too!
If you're near Waikoloa, it's worth the drive to Waimea just for these...

For vegetarians, the taro burger is a revelation especially if you are used to dried out veggie burgers. It's loaded with grated veggies and served with an avocado/tomato topping. My husband loves the locally grown beef burgers and the parmesan french fries should be illegal they are so delicious. I appreciate and support this restaurant because the food is great...
