Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

We had breakfast here one morning and it was fantastic. We ordered an omelet and pancakes, and when the staff discovered (on their own without us saying anything) they'd given us the wrong food, they quickly prepared the food we ordered and also gave it to us free of charge. The staff was outstanding and the food was wonderful.

Expensive and below average food and service describes our less than romantic dinner at the Kilauea Lodge. The choices in Volcano are slim to very slim right now. So many places have gone out of business or closed that this could be the worst place in the area and it would still do business. My salad was okay, but the... More

We had dinner here as we were staying at the Volcano House which had no restaurant when we stayed (due to a refurbishment). The lodge is lovely and cozy and although we booked relatively late, we were made to feel very welcome. There's a decent variety of food on the menu (steaks, raw fish, Italian, vegetarian options, awesome home made... More

Dropped in for lunch without reservations. The decor could be described as Classical Hawaiian. The menu was unique. I had duck vegetable soup and a Ka'u Berger. My wife had Ahi Cesar. Both were prepared quickly and were great. Desert menu was limited but a nice selection. The wait staff were pleasant even though they were being overrun with tour... More

We ate here when we came to hike the volcano area. KLR may serve good food, but my concern is to what degree they are protecting the delicate rainforest. I told the staff person that there are issues with a few things and how they take care of the environment. She gave me an excuse and didn't seem to care.

Volcano Village can be damp and chilly in the evening, and while it seems incongruous to have such a cozy menu in Hawaii, it works. Hubby and I split the German sausage sampler with two side salads and a dessert, and a bottle of wine, and that was plenty. It was comforitng to be near a working fireplace after a... More

We stayed in Volcano for a week and ate here several times. A little pricey, meals start at $29, but very good. The chef is fantastic! My husband ordered a steak one night that was cooked to perfection. Great appetizers and wonderful desserts! We ordered their signature margarita (virgin) and it could have passed for a dessert, it was delicious!... More

We stayed overnight In Volcano and went here for dinner. Dinner was excellent. My husband had a duck dish and I had a chicken dish - everything was well prepared and service was excellent.

This beautifully done resturant was the place we chose to celebrate a belated anniversary dinner. The restaurant itself is done in an upscale lodge look with a lovely fireplace. The service was very good without being bothersome and there was a small but very nice menu. My hubby ordered the rack of lamb and it was wonderful. I ordered the... More
