My husband and I were staying in Poipu last week and had grown tired of heavy hotel food so we tried the Kalaheo Cafe on recommendation of our guidebook. An easy 10 minute drive led us to this cute and down-to-earth cafe. We were seated inside but there is covered patio seating also. I was in the mood for something... More

Best value around for breakfast. From either Poipu or Lihue it's only a short drive, or if you are on the way to Waimea it's a must stop. They also do lunch and dinner on select nights. Ample size portions, with both traditional dishes plus some unique island flare (great Portuguese sausage).

I love coming here but prices are going up so the price-value relationship is getting slightly out of balance. But I still like it here.

We had the furikake encrusted ahi with thai chicken curry soup and finished up with the apple pie. What an amazing experience. Great flavors. Great service. A definite "go to" restaurant on Kauai!

Breakfast and dinner here are two entirely different experiences. Our first visit was for breakfast on a weekend which was a little chaotic. The parking lot was full and there was a line at the counter, though it moved quickly and the staff was friendly. We stalked a table until it was open and snagged it to enjoy a light... More

The Kalaheo Cafe is along side a fairly noisy road (we were out on patio) but that is the worst that I can say about the place. I will be back on this trip, an earlier review said to go here early in your trip and it is true. There is nothing fancy to look at here but the food... More

After a vigorous afternoon of hiking around Waimea Canyon, we found this place, with the help of Franco's "Ultimate Kauai Guidebook." We were greeted by the manager, Barbara Anderson, a tall blond with an infectious smile, and took a table on the patio. There we found people of all walks of life enjoying themselves. Our server, Rebecca, was very friendly,... More

The everyday breakfast is tasty but simple. If you're lucky (like I was) maybe you'll be there when they have the kalua pork omelet- delicious! We ate there twice and the staff is nice. The baked good are great!!

We have had both dinner and breakfast here while visiting the island and enjoyed both meals tremendously. It has good food and is a very unpretentious place as well as being well priced for the value.
