We have eaten at Roy's on Oahu several times, and saved this Kauai restaurant for our last night and Father's Day dinner. All in all, I would have to say it was disappointing. The food was very good, BUT....the restaurant is totally lacking in ambiance. Very blah and uninteresting. Our waiter dutifully recited the menu without any enthusiasm whatsoever. We... More

This bill will be high but the service and food are worth it. Varied menu items make selection difficult. Service is friendly and professional - well informed on all menu items.

There is no doubt that the quality of food was excellent. The seasoning seemed to be a little too salty. The prices were extremely high (even higher than the average Hawaiian fare). For the two of us to eat and get a single alcoholic beverage the tab came to around $160 after tip. We didn't get the most expensive items... More

As a Kauai resident I have been to most of the restaurants on the south shore. From the reviews in recent times of Roy's, i see people, have had varying degrees of pleasure dining there. On a visit this past week I found it noisy. Seated in the main dining room, the ambient chatter made it hard to hear my companions.... More

This was our best dining experience on the island! Excellent service and wonderful fresh fish. It is pricey but was well worth it and we received a complimentary dessert from our resort. There are restaurants that offer more scenery, but the food and service more than compensates!

We booked our reservation with the hotel knowing we always enjoy a Roy's meal. But we were disappointed that the setting was in the middle of a little shopping center. The ambiance was lacking and for the first time, our food was average. Nothing to complain about, but not something we would like to do again.

The meal here was not on the level of Roy's in Orlando. Surprising since this is Hawaii - the home turf of Roy's. Appetizers of seared Ahi weren't particularly fresh. Prices are plenty high. The restaurant itself feels tired and dated. Best to avoid.

I think this was our nicest dinner during out trip. It's evident that Roy's uses quality ingredients, our meal was prepared well, and the service was great. It's not a bargain, but definitely a really nice meal if you're looking for something a step up. I would recommend it.

We have been to Roy's in Oahu and Maui and were excited to try Poipu's. Firstly, this is the first non-air-conditioned Roy's we went to. Outdoor eating is great in nice weather but in 85% humidity and 80 degree heat with occasional showers, its time to open the air conditioning. As an asthmatic, I would not recommend this restaurant, it... More

Nice fish selection and good recommendations. I got to try fish I never heard of. Portions larger when comparing to neighboring restaurants. Seating is sort of outdoors but in a shopping center environment. You can dress on the casual side and that's why I love Kauai! Personally, even though the meal was nice, I found it to be overpriced. But... More
