This little dive isn't atmospheric, but the food's tasty. Be advised that your fish won't have swum and your chicken didn't start as an egg: the protein here is derived from tofu, and some diners -- my wife, for example -- prefer their soy products as what they are, not masquerading as something they aren't. If it tastes great, you... More

This is a family owned type of place. Employees are friendly. Decor is basic, food is good. Sometimes it is empty and sometimes packed. When packed it is loud. Since it is so casual it is a good place to take kids. Feel free to describe your needs. If you are looking for a lot of food for a certain... More

Some friends we meet on the trip suggested we give this vegetarian restaurant a try. I'm not big into vegetarian food, but this place knows how to make the best food. We almost became a regular during our time on Maui.

The Fresh Mint is on Baldwin in Paia, across the street from the post office. It is a bit of a walk up hill from the main business area in Paia but well worth it. I am not Vegan but this is still one of my favorite restaurants on Maui. My favorite items are the Veggie Pho, the spicy ginger... More

Asian Vegetarian restaurant serving large portions of tasty food. Excellent salads, soups that were meals in themselves and a variety of rice and noodle dishes with subtle spicing.

Small mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant in Paia. If you are traveling through on the "Road to Hana" explore, this is worth a stop. Really simple, but good vegan food. Inexpensive, too. Service was very good, ambiance was fine. I had the Soy Fish in Clay Pot. Nice favors. Will try the Pho soup before leaving. BTW, if you are... More

I know that eating out is expensive in Hawaii, but for a menu item advertised as an entree, I want to at least feel nourished. I ordered the shitake meal and counted 8 mushrooms arranged on top of 8 green beans - literally, I am not exaggerating!!! These were silver dollar sized shitakes, not palm sized portobellos or large oval... More

Love this place. Really tasty food and a full vegetarian menu, to boot! I guess the downsides are atmosphere (kinda stark/diner-esque, with fluorescent lighting) and the service (polite, but often very slow, even with few customers). Hard to find outstanding Vietnamese veggie food, though, so they could probably pelt me with rocks as I was eating and I'd still go... More

I waited all day for this place to open. Settled for a Mexican place two blocks down because Fresh Mint said they were not going to open for lunch for the month. We were really hankering for a veggie pho on the island, and were in Pai'a for the day. The pho was incredibly bland and not at all plentiful... More
