This did not look like the sort of place we would usually go to, but the food and the service were very good. For lunch husband had the lobster stew special - plenty of lobster meat and tasty. Lots of choice for non meat eaters. Local microbrews to drink. Good lunch spot.

Good menu including veggie options. One of the few open year round in Bar Harbor. Don't sit in the back if you can avoid it as no atmosphere. Try and make sure you get seated up front.

Bar Harbor is a great spot but has too many restaurants that served lack luster food at best. Happy to say that the Side Street Cafe is a winner!! The staff was super inviting and welcoming. They all came over to play with our baby. And the lobster mac and cheese, while not on the menu, was outstanding with big chunks of lobster and shaved Parmesan. Order the full size and save some for tomorrow

Great food and service. Nice selection of food and drinks on the menu including vegetarian options. HIghly recommend.

Just had lunch at this restaurant and it was great. They have a terrific menu with lots of create your own options. The Mac and cheese is great as was the salad/sandwich I chose. Very friendly service, nice atmosphere. Don't think you can go wrong here.

Oh, the mac and cheese...to die for with multiple options. I loved the nachos. Just really good. Nice prices, fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere. Will certainly return when in town.
