This is a sweet small restaurant with great atmosphere. Most of the dishes (especially the fish) are wonderful. However, the desserts are fabulous. And my favorite is the lemon cake, really a super-lemony pudding on top, cake on bottom. Don't miss it!

The Town Hill Bistro is a small, intimate restaurant away from the madness of downtown Bar Harbor. Even though the menu isn't extensive, we still had a difficult time choosing from the imaginative offerings. All were fresh, creative and beautifully prepared. We lingered for two hours over a sumptuous dinner.

We went here for my husband's birthday, and it was really special. The ever-changing menu is fantastic, and the food is second-to-none. We started out with white asparagus and ramp & sunchoke soups, then moved on to divine clams steamed in a spicy-smoky broth I can't remember the name of. The clams were the best thing I ate in our... My husband and I had an excellent dinner here on our honeymoon. The service was very friendly and laid back. We were never rushed, although when we finally left we realized we had been there for two hours! Each item we ordered (soup, duck confit, braised pork, sesame tofu, cocoa gingerbread, creme brûlée) was prepared and presented perfectly, not too... More

If the mission of this cozy bistro is to offer the clean flavors, high quality ingredients and pair with exceptional wine choices, then they have hit the mark! The pan-fried gnocchi was perfection and the asian braised dark meat chicken appealed to my "meat and potatoes" partner. Service was excellent (Thanks, Liz and Maureen!!) - personalities were warm, inviting and... More

Be sure to reserve a table in advance to insure a fabulous dining experience - this local and tourist favorite is not a "walk-in" establishment. I've enjoyed the bistro's creative farm-to-table menu for two summers now and confess to having fantasies about their hand-made pan seared gnocchi with fresh peas, mushrooms and onions in a bed of lemon-thyme cream sauce.... If you like unique, fresh food this is the place for you. Away from the beaten path this place was recommended by the inn staff where we stayed. All of the entrees are made from locally grown produce and freshly caught seafood.

We drove by it twice and missed it totally as it has an abandoned look. The inside reinforced our initial evaluation. The food though totally knocked our socks off. The pan seared gnocchi was outstanding as was the cous cous with shrimp and lobster. It is way off the beaten path so you shouldn't see many tourists.

We are in the area for the week and came here on a local recommendation. The food was quite good, but we were put off by our server. When we were placing our order, one of us inquired about what was included with the entree and the server quickly replied that a starch and a vegetable were included. When asked... More
