Description: Prospect is a more casual dining hall from the team behind San Francisco's acclaimed Boulevard. Partners Nancy Oakes (James Beard award-winning chef/owner of Boulevard), Pam Mazzola and Kathy King, have created a convivial venue that pays tribute to contemporary American cuisine. Whether it's a cocktail and a bite at the bar, a casual meal at the communal table, or a relaxed dinner in the main dining room, guest can enjoy the full menu and exceptional service. Designed by Brand + Allen Architects, the loft-like space is warmed by earth tones, natural fibers, and reclaimed wood, while unique elements like artisan-crafted wrought iron chandeliers add distinctive character to the impressive dimensions. A separate dining room is available for private events.

Slick, urban setting in the middle of a trendy area south of Market and near the bay. A beautiful place with a neat vibe and attractive crowd. Menu was varied but not overwhelming, and the food was delicious, locally sourced, and artfully presented. Good wine selection. Nice, nuanced service. A lovely evening.

I looked online to find a restaurant I could take a friend that was nice, somewhat casual, with a food bill less than $140. Prospect offered all of that and much more. Each course was outstanding. I had a chard and radicchio salad - delicious. My friend raved about the ravioli appetizer. The pasta was made on site. For the main... More

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit . The food was excellent. Service was outstanding even though the restaurant was full. You need to book to get in. The ambiance was also very nice in this contemporary styled restaurant . On returning to San FRANSISCO I would make this one of the many good restaurants I would revisit.

We met a group of friends for brunch on a Sunday morning with a reservation ( the restaurant was half filled so didn't seem necessary). We arrived maybe 10 minutes before Prospect opened and were welcomed in when the doors slowly swung open. Our group shared a carafe of mimosas and then I ordered the Dungeness Crab Scramble with fresh... More

Prospect is the sister restaurant to Boulevard. Whereas Boulevard has a homely feel, Prospect's decor is modern and a little sterile. It doesn't have the warmth of its sister restaurant. The food and service are good. Certainly, the place is popular. If you like "in" places, you'll like Prospect.

Nice venue. I really enjoyed my oysters and my sole dish. The wines were delicious and dessert was delightful.

Very good experience. We had a table of 6 including an educated chef and there was not a disappointed diner at the table. We tried a variety of appetizers, entrees, deserts and wine -- and all was solid. A nice place to entertain a group. Enjoy!

Traveling all over the world and dining at an array of different places, we enjoy San Francisco for its wonderful places to eat more than most cities. So imagine our surprise after booking at Prospect over a month in advance and being told we couldn't sit in the dining room if we intended to order a burger. They said they... More
