We recently had dinner at Seven Hills and had a wonderful meal. The service was attentive but not intrusive, the food was well-prepared and well-priced given the quality of the ingredients. We sampled several pastas, all house-made, and enjoyed the ravioli with ricotta lemon creme, the carbonara, and the linguine with spicy sausage. We also tried the turkey meatballs which... More

This is a small restaurant, but cozy. The wait staff was attentive to our every need and were knowledgeable about the wine selections and the food. They have half sized plates and we decided to split 4 half orders so we could have the dishes tapas style and try more of the food. We started the Ravioli Uovo, which is... More

This place is tiny, popular, a "book way in advance kind of place" and is in a fun neighborhood (Russian Hill). Very expensive, and my dinner (the kampachi) was unbelievably good, though my other three dinner attendees didn't fare as well. Our waiter was knowledgeable, but all of us commented on how his air of superiority turned us off.

The evening we ate here was the night before the owner's US Citizenship test. He was there, working hard, circulating a copy of his dog-eared Citizenship book, asking us to quiz him on it's contents. It's a tiny place, with excellent dishes, run by a owner who is on top of everything, even on the night before a big test.WOW... More

My wife & I were in San Fran celebrating our 1 year anniversary. I really wanted to eat here to celebrate, but I could not get an Open Table reservation. I emailed the owner, Alex, and requested a reservation. He granted my request in a friendly email back. I'm so glad he was able to squeeze us in because our... More

We came here last October. Do not EVER try to come without a reservation. It is a very small, neighbourhood place, and it is constantly busy. The menu is highly creative, and we always enjoy trying new offerings and specials. This is a fun place, full of fun people and lots of happy noise, combined with excellent food and wines.... More

We called an hour before we wanted to visit and were generously accommodated after I mentioned that we were visiting from NYC and my husband had a very nebulous and unforgiving work schedule here in SF. We began our meal with the crisp and buttery parmesan crisps laced with balsamic vinegar and ended it with the delicately sweetened Vanilla Panna... More

This was one of the highlights of our food vacation! We ate all over California including top spots in Napa and I think this was our favorite place we ate overall. We had a Prosciutto salad, ravioli, spaghetti and skirt steak. Everything was great especially the first 3. The steak was good but after the first items it wasn't the... More

I came here with my partner on a busy Friday evening. We were extremely fortunate to have reservations. (seriously, don't go without one, you'll wait forever) In one word: "outstanding" The food is simply delicate and refined. We strongly advocate for you to take several half plates of pasta and share. Do order the mushroom tortelli and the mushroom risotto.... More

Seven Hills is an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The authentic Italian fare stands out in a city with numerous good Italian restaurants. The menu allows a varied choice from my wife's Poached Hawaiian Kampachi to my Spaghetti with Grandpa George's sausage. The pasta is made fresh there every day (try the Ravioli Uovo). Our San Daniele Prosciutto Salad made our... More
