Terroir. I've been coming here for years for many reasons, not least of which is one of the most outstanding, curated and geeky wine lists around. This is not a place for someone new into wine. It's for wine nerds of all ages. The place is so cerebral -- so many levels of art, music, science, and wine converged to... More

Great service last night at Terroir! Our server steered us in all the directions that we wanted to go, from a juicy, gamey Mordeuse from the Savoie to a 1981 Rioja that knocked our sox off. The bone marrow is a definite! This is a great wine bar! I will be going back, for sure, to try more.

We visited terroir on 412E 3rd last year already, this year it was the one in Soho. Both places are a riot. The variety of wine they offer - even by the glass - is amazing. The menu just fun to read and the staff is extremely knowledgable. I own a winebar close to Frankfurt and a lot of things... More

The owner of this establishment, Paul, is one serious clever gentleman. He is a genius @ marketing and makes his guests feel @ great ease with his charm & brilliant selection of wines. His offerings are delicious, the staff is congenial and it is a place of great wit. You can easily chat with other patrons, sample Paul's carefully curated... More

Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of off the beaten path wines in 3 and 6 ounce pours so you could try new things. We didn't eat - but the food looked good. The menu is like a small novel - very funny, very interesting read.

The space is tiny, but the appeal is large. Terroir, a blond wood railroad of a room is a spare space with an all-glass facade looking out at the East Village bustle of 12th street. The space is no-nonsense, and the menu is full of straightforward but extremely well executed tapas. With Paul Grieco at the helm as wine director... More

The wine selection is great. The food is fantastic. The staff is friendly and mostly attentive. However, it is very cramped and not well ventilated (the place smelled of burning oil). I'd still go back as much I possible.
