Quiet night before Thanksgiving so lacked a bit of atmosphere. But great cocktails at the bar before dinner, and the top up was much appreciated!
If you love French inspired food - this is a great spot for you. My wife and I asked the waiter about the architecture/design of the restaurant - our guess was that it was vintage airline inspired. The waiter said no - it was "big brother" inspired. I found this vaguely disturbing, but in a good way. The food was... More
great prix fixe weekend brunch at $19 for two courses and cocktail. Went to the Brasserie for a birthday brunch...Nice ambiance too in the iconic Seagram Building. Overall delightful experience.

And that's been true....since I was a much younger man; and I'm 57. Other than the fact that Brasserie was closed for many years due to a fire (long ago) I've been coming here - along with family and friends (never mind sending every out-of-towner I know) for countless years and the ambiance, service, and - above all - the... This looks like a place that many neighborhood locals frequent. The room, square and large with a bar on one side and nifty booths across, is lit in a pale aqua pool light that makes all feel young, even when most don't look it. In fact, Brasserie has its aging regulars fill most tables and they seem happy. The menu... More
lunch crowd at this trendy mid-town restaurants appeared to be mostly business executives. Tables were close together, making private conversations difficult. I had sea bass, it was good but not great. Plenty of restaurants in NY have better fish. Portions were small. Convenient location. Service was good. I'd go here again, but I would not go out of my way... More
Noise is everywhere. Unavoidable with all the smooth surfaces. Trendy decor doesn't make up for mediocre service and only fair food quality. A no go for me.

As the General Manager of the restaurant, your comments were forwarded to me for review and follow-up. I’m disappointed to hear that noise, service and food quality where an issue and as a result, your experience with us... More
A nicely done upscale lunch. Very modern decor (check out the men's room sink), busy and quite noisy at lunch. The service was attentive, and a mistake in my order was corrected promptly. There was a baguette served nicely for the table, wrapped in a napkin so you could grab a "hunk". Served with an oversized pat of the best... More
We recently discovered the brunch special at Brasserie and tried it this weekend. 2 courses and a drink, eg. Mimosa or Bloody Mary, for $19, similar to deals in the Village or SOHO on the weekends. Fantastic for mid-town! We had French onion soup, cavatelli, beet salad and omelet and all the dishes were lovely. Highly recommend this brunch!
Menu varied with something to please everyone. At our table, choices ranged from burger & fries to lobster risotto to mussels. Each dish was perfectly prepared. Excellent cheese selection. Wonderful breads and tasty desserts. Wines for every palate and budget. Pleasing atmosphere, try for a booth where the noise level is lower. What a shame the waiter was inattentive. Plates... More
