Traditional and homemade, these treats are the best in town. You should try the Devil's food cupcake.
Loved the cupcakes, and know why they are famous for starting the cupcake craze. There was a long wait, but it moved very quickly. Definitely a must hit if you need a sugar rush!
These cupcakes were good, but I don't understand the hype behind them. They seemed a little overpriced for what you get, and they did not justify the line and the wait. Try them if you like, but there are better cupcakes in NYC without the wait.
We get all of our desserts from Magnolia, especially for big holidays or birthdays. Its really delicious. Never disappoints! Highly recommended.
NYC staple of course after Sex and the city. Delicious cupcakes. not too big like crumbs. Classic bakery, just tried their lemon bars. Delicious!
I guess when people in New York see a line, they feel the need to stand in it to reassure themselves that they are doing something hip. Okay, the cupcakes are fine. But they are just cupcakes. Do you really want to waste 15 minutes of your life waiting for a cupcake?
On a cold morning we spotted magnolia bakery from across the street. It had quaint character and was clean and busy...good signs. The cakes looked pretty but more more importantly tasted fresh out of the oven. We ate 5 flavours and liked all of them but i would agree they could use some alternative icing recipes and a little more...

It was a good (but pricey) cupcake I got, but I didn't think it was good as everyone else was going on about. It was a really nice little experience though, I must say. People were friendly, it was cute, smelt good, and everything looked good of course. You should try it out.
The banana pudding was just fabulous. it is so rich and decadent; we loved it. The cupcakes...not so much. The chocolate frosting is great (and incidentally, exactly like my mother-in-law's). The cake itself was a bit dry and not very flavorful. Red velvet cupcake was totally disappointing - don't get that one!
