If you want to enjoy your stay in New York don't stay at the Essex !! Terrible rooms and terrible service!!!
Incredibly impressed with how they do things at the Essex House. After a day or so, you are greeted by your name and there is nothing they won't do for you. Doesn't cost an arm and a leg either. Rooms are bigger than you'd think. Renovation a few years ago was well worth all he millions they spent. A+++
Unbelievable space in the heart of Manhattan (yes, I place the heart on Central Park South). We went to a dinner in the Art Deco room which used to be an Alain Ducasse restaurant which closed a few years ago. The hotel itself has a fascinating history - they broke ground a day before the stock market crash of 1929... More

Excellent hotel and service in a classic Central Park South building. Right in the middle of the city yet a world away being on Central Park. Very close to numerous subway lines and don't hesitate to use the buses - they are excellent.
I have never experienced worse customer service in my life. The staff lies to your face rather than assisting you. Then when you confront them, they admit it with no care in the world. Who does business like that???
Spent the week at this JW Marriott hotel... The interior rooms are incredibly quiet for a mid town location. The rooms are spacious, very comfortably furnished, and elegant with a touch of old world design. The service and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Everyone went out of their way to be of service. The location is within walking distance... More
Love this restaurant at Essex House, have eaten there frequently enjoying dinners, brunch buffets and two wonderful Christmas lunches! Essex House is no longer a Jumeriah property it has recently changed ownership and I have eaten there under the new ownership!
I visit Manahattan at least three times a year and love to try different hotels. This is the first time I tried a location by Central Park and I will always do this from now on. The location is extremely scenic and out of the times square noise but close enough to everything. We took a suite which is not... More
