Great place, great value. We had good cappuccino and reg coffee, almond croissant and sticky bun for $7. Nice atmosphere, crowd ranged from silver hair to kids in strollers.
I was in Philadelphia for a conference and walked by the La Columbe Torrefaction on Penn Square one morning. I tried it, liked it, and went back several times before the conference ended. I prefer cappuccino and it was excellent here. It was also served in china cups which in my book makes a big difference. Had several pastries too,... More
Don't be put off by the aloof greeting or surly service, the coffee is consistently excellent. If you enjoy a good cup of coffee--rich, roasted flavor without being too grainy or challenging--this is your stop. Lovely nibbles to go with your coffee as well. Whole bean bagged coffee ready to take home. Just expect to occasionally have a few things... More

I am town for a conference near city hall. As I sat near the window I could see the city move in warped speed, but... More
I used to love the strong, dark coffee at this place when it first opened many years ago so I jumped at the opportunity to visit again. I ordered a short double capuccino but what I received was all milk with barely any coffee. Very disappointing.
