5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2013 NEW

I've eaten at the Blue Water several times, usually following a day and night of skiing in Lutsen or a night in Grand Marais spent at the Raven or Herring Club. So a large portion of greasy food is in order. However, to say they only make great diner breakfasts isn't quite true. They have amazing deserts with generous portions... More

stopped there on Tuesday for lunch which ended up being 1/2 price burger day. Had one of the best tasting and good size burgers ever. Fries were done just right. Sever was amazing: fast, calm, friendly. One of the best lunches we've had in years. Will make it a point to stop there next time we're in the area!

This is a wonderful place for breakfast, but you better come hungry. It's right downtown Grand Marais. We have stopped here several times for breakfast and dinner over the years. They offer good food and reasonable prices.

This place is different. The food is good and it is decorated with things you would find on a boat at sea. very nice wait staff. I would come back again.

We sometimes call this the Bilgewater. I think it's a standard for locals and dependably good, quick and greasy. Very American.

We stopped in for an early supper on our way to Duluth and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty and the portions were good. The turkey barley soup was delicious. The server was very friendly and efficient. We will definitely stop in again.

we got in to town a bit on the late side, but the cafe was still open, so we decided to have the Fish, it was good, nothing to write home about. what we noticed was one of the waitresses had her family come in which consisted of 3-4 children one was an infant...she was carrying the baby around while... Have eaten a couple of times here and have not been disappointed. Had the Galley Breakfast with the meat of the day being Pollock...sooo good! You wouldn't think that fish for breakfast would be good, but it was! Great service and for a Sunday, it wasn't very crowded, of course, it was snowing out and cold, but that doesn't usually... More

The Blue Water Cafe is a great place to get in out of the cold. We like to visit the North Shore of Lake Superior in November when the weather is nasty and the lake is pounding the shore. After a long day of hiking, exploring and visiting, we love dropping into the Blue Water for a hot meal and/or... More

Had a great breakfast there. Only complaint was slow service. But I think it is the nature of the area.
