Location terrible. Shady folks walking in and out of here. Small parking area. Front of the house girls that take your order are young and look like gang members. Not friendly at all. Plastic box presentation of food for eat in and carry out. Table area and bathroom dirty. The prices are way too high. Food is very good that... More

I eat here at least once every other week and I enjoy everything on the menu. The red beans ,sausage and rice, the crab cakes and jambalya are all outstanding. Two locations and very reasonable.

When in Madison and hungry, I often stop here. In a few minutes, you can get a cajun take out that's really good. I've been eating here for many years, and have not had a bad service experience; I mean, what's so hard about taking your order at the sales counter? Not much for atmosphere or location, but I come... More

John Rousos's idea of New Orleans cooking is to add more salt and hot pepper to standard recipes for Creole cuisine. It has little resemblance to the real N.O. food, which I've sampled probably 100 times in the last 35 years. We pass by the restaurant often and marvel how it could stay in business. Verisy little originality or genuineness... More

Food overall is one of the best places in Madison if your right by the stadium or on the northside. Service usually sucks, the person working is not very nice, but I could usually forgive because the food is worth it.

Been here a handful of times over the past few years and each time I have thoroughly enjoyed eating eating here. I recommend the red beans and rice with french bread with pralines it will fill you up though almost anything here will. It's a very casual atmosphere and quite cool to see all the music legends and who have... More

My boyfriend and I were getting tired of eating on State Street so we decided to look up restaurants and found New Orleans Take Out. I had my first Po' boy sandwich (with fried oysters) which was amazing! The bread is so good and the crust on the oyster was perfect. My boyfriend had the BBQ Po' boy and he... More

We love spicy cajun and have always meant to try this place in our hometown. We decided to try the fried catfish and shrimp creole. The catfish batter was not too heavy and had good flavor and wasn't dry. The dirty rice accompanying it was flavorful. The shrimp creole was advertised as "very, very hot" and that just seemed like... More

Authentic Cajun fare available locally. Excellent stuff all over the menu - I love the various Po Boy sandwiches and Thursday's special, "cajun cream." Folks who like the spicy will love the jambalaya. Creole for real. Cornbread. Real deal stuff.

I stayed at a nearby hotel and went walking looking for take-out dinner options. There's a few chain, fast-food type places nearby, and then I passed this unassuming looking place. What a find! The portions are good, the prices are very reasonable, and the food is fantastic! I hope I'm in town soon so I can go back!
