This is a fabulous bistro in the Central Business District of New Orleans, on the famous St. Charles Street. It's cuisine is kind of a farm-to-table meets French meets Italian meets Creole. The menu is creative and eclectic. The atmosphere is casual and the dining room is airy and light, as it's surrounded by windows. Chicken-Andouille Gumbo was top notch... More

I've been wanting to try Herbsaint for some time. I had great weather so I sat outside to take it in. I had the gumbo, which was OK. I am not a fan of this gumbo style, similar to Commander's Palace; very dark roux, little rice, and very thin. Its not bad, just not traditional. I also had the shrimp... More

Had a totally unmemorable dinner here. In a city filled with exciting new chefs and new menus and new places this has not kept its edge. Nothing bad; just nothing memorable.

My husband and I visited for dinner in mid-May and were impressed with the food and service. We started with with two of the specials, the pasta bolognese (best pasta dish of our six day visit) and the goat cheese and kale appetizer (great flavors.) My husband ordered the lamb neck (delicious and perfectly cooked) and I the duck with... More

we walked just a little ways out side the quarter. You could also take the St Charles Streetcar. We got a reservation for 7 and sat outside since the weather was still very mild and didn't regret our decision. we started out with a sazerac and Pimms cup with small plates: Gnocchi with Pancetta and Parmesan and Beef Short Rib... I was greatly disappointed in the food and don't think I will ever go back again. I had heard such great things about it and was very disappointed as was my companion

I don't usually like to go out and get chicken for dinner but the chicken and crawfish entree here was fantastic! I really enjoyed it. The sauce was good but even better with the dinner bread.

In NOLA for business. Stopped by and ate at the bar. Was guided professionally through the menu. Had the kale salad and lamb's neck. Both extraordinary. The neck, served on the bone - is very rich in flavor, slow roasted (braised but crispy) - and then served with a very acidic sauce. Picked tomatoes / chilis. Frickin delicious. Probably the... More

The food is very good New Orleans French. Soft shell crab was superb. Grilled Drum was excellent. Banana dessert, and the chocolate molten cake were both equally divine The service is pleasant and helpful, Casual elegance and warm receptive staff. I would highly recommend this non-tourist culinary delight.
