We had the home-made veggie burgers & they were huge & tasty & the spicy slaw was great too. We had a filling meal here after a full day of hiking.
We like going to brew pubs and when we found Bitter Esters we were happy. The Beer sampler was very good and the food was tasty. They have a few vegetarian options. They also have herring as an appetizer, delicious. The only down side was that they were out of pint glasses. great place , we would visit again.
One of the few places in town open on Sunday night but we were very pleasantly surprised. Service was terrific and the Reuben I had really hit the spot. Was delicious. Said on the door it was open till 8 but management flipped the sign on the door from open to closed at about 7:00pm. Were very glad we got... More
We went here due to Trip Advisor reviews. Beer was great. Food was above average for a brewhouse. Atmosphere was friendly and casual. Good value meal in center of Custer. Recommended!
We really enjoyed dining Bitter Esters. While the menu is fairly limited what we ordered was very good. The baked green beans with aioli were delicious. We also had a pizza. It had a pesto base and was very tasty. I ordered sangria which came minus the fruit that is normally in sangria. My husband tried two of their beers.... More

We stopped in for an evening meal and although it was not busy we waited a very long time for our meal. We ordered an appetizer of breaded green beans with an aioli sauce - oh my gosh they were so delicious. The burgers were good. The waiter was pleasant.
A real gem in the Black Hills; numerous (too numerous to list) micro brews combined with decent sandwiches make this a pleasant stop on a hot day. The Brewbon is the best Reuben Sandwich for 3 counties!
During the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally this year, we camped in Custer State Park and the town of Custer was a frequent stop. We heard there was a brew pub in town so decided to stop in one evening after a long day on the road. It was love at first sip for the Raw Beast Pale Ale! Now, I'm... More
My wife and I went there with my four year old son, because we had heard about it around town and thought we'd celebrate the end of a long and arduous garage sale. My first impression was not so good as there is a sign outside which says "No Public Restrooms." I asked if that meant none at all or... More
