They have good sushi, but the service is rather slow. As a close alternative, try: (1) You Make the Role (cheap); (2) Kenichi's (moderate to expensive); or, (3) Sushi Shiono's (moderate to expensive).

My wife and I looked at the websites for Sushi in Kona and were drawn to Wasabi's. Little did we know what we were in for. I ordered food to go in the restaurant after the lunch rush around 1:15. There were two tables of two diners each in the restaurant waiting for food. I ran a few errands and...

We happened on Wasabi's in the Coconut Marketplace on Alii Drive when looking for something different. So happy we did! Tucked away in a corner next to the kava bar, it's small. We ordered a variety off the menu and every selection was delicious and beautifully presented. Give them a chance - you'll be glad you did.
We were just walking around and found this place to eat, not only did it satisfy myself but my two kids couldn't get enough of the awesome food. We went there 3 times in 10 days, we loved the food. Service was a little slow but it was worth the wait. It is a must try if you are in...

This little restaurant will not disappoint if you are searching for some very good Japanese cuisine! I ensure I visit Wasabi at least a couple of times on every trip home!
We ate here based on the reviews from tripadvisor. So glad we did! It was a little hard to find since it's tucked away in the back of the shopping/restaurant complex. But there was a local, authentic family atmosphere to the place. The sushi and sashimi was excellent, most of it being locally fresh-caught. The prices were better than we...

nothing to dislike here. fresh fresh and sweet people who own it AND nice quiet atmostphere. classy.
Food was decent for Japanese restaurant. Flexibility and attitude of the staff make the difference over other local Japanese restaurant.
This was a great little find. Sushi was presented beautifully and tasted awesome. Every thing super fresh. Lilikoi pie was a really nice way to finish the meal. We were in Kona for a week and ate here three times, food was consistently great. Must try Alii Roll and Kona roll. Really friendly staff too.
Nice little place, small inside, open air, ok prices. Sushi is excellent. I had tuna sashimi, big fresh pieces, and the volcano roll (a+ for appearance, a- for taste). They have a good selection of non-sushi (actual Japanese) food too. Seemed like a good drink selection too but we were only there for food
