Absolutely awesome whisky-marinated bone-in rib-eye! Medium rare. Perfect. Veggies on the soggy side. Service could have been more attentive (needed more waitresses on Tuesday night). All in all a very good place for steaks. If the owners want to beat the downtown competition (e.g., 801 Chophouse) in terms of TA ratings, they need to improve the sides and the service.

I had a friend visiting from Manhattan that insisted that I find a off the beaten path place that was unique and loved by the locals. Since I have only lived in Omaha six months I did a quick survey at work and everyone said, without hesitation, Drover. It was an amazing experience. When you arrive it is like stepping... More

My second visit. Looks odd from the outside but very cosy atmosphere inside and good service. Make sure you try the whiskey steaks.

Attending the Berkshire Hathaway AGM, we decided against Warren's Gorat's Steakhouse in favour of Drovers. Big mistake! Service was good, but one does not go to a restaurant for service alone. One goes to a steakhouse for great steaks. Unfortunately, great steaks were not on offer. Tough and overcooked are adjectives that come to mind.

Whisky filet was the highlight. The rest was a pretty mediocre salad bar and a very standard baked potato. The prime rib was overly fatty. Interior is dark and somewhat dated. Service was pleasant and efficient.

This place was recommended from the flight in, by a young woman returning home from college, as well as a barmaid who grew up here "but had never been, but heard it was awesome" to a local attorney who boasted that "there wasn't a finer steak to be had." ~I've got news for you, Omaha- there ARE better restaurants with... My husband and I went to the Drover for Valentine's Day 2012. The atmosphere was good and the steak was amazing. The salad bar was basic and I was not impressed. I would go back again just because the steak rocks!

I like a place that is Old World/Dated; depending on your point of view. This place has been around and I go when I want beef, lots of it. I ate at the bar this time and it was plenty dark inside-atmosphere? The barmaid was efficient but not warm. I had a nice potato soup and I like the bread... More

Best steaks in town, esp. the whiskey filet. Never in the many years of going here have been disappointed!

I'm not a visitor, I've lived in Omaha all of my life. I'm also really picky about steaks and this place can't be beat. It's not pretty inside, the service is sometimes a little weird (but always prompt and accurate) and the salad bar is tacky but they have the BEST steak. Don't let anyone tell you different: the rest... More
